Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

How about a SUPERMAN prediction list since it's been hinted that it may be announced at TOY FAIR? My list isn't perfect but probably the first 5 waves will be something close to this....

Wave 1
Superman
Lex Luthor
Parasite
Metallo

Wave 2
Lois Lane
Brainiac
Bizarro with "dog"
Toyman

Wave 3
Clark Kent
Mercy
Mxyzptlk & Gsptlsnz
Kalabeck

Deluxe Lobo with chopper

Wave 4
Supergirl
Dr. Hamilton
Darkseid
Livewire

Wave 5
Superboy
Lana Lang
Mala & Gen.
Granny Goodness

Wave 6
Jimmy Olsen
Steel
Perry White
Turpin & Sawyer

Superman's parents with baby Kal-el & rocket?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'm pretty sure Superman figures will be announced. I'm currently rewatching the whole series and looking for inspiration for backgrounds. Will share what I come up with.

I am predicting a Superman lineup like:

Wave 1: Superman, Metallo, Brainiac, Livewire

Wave 2: Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Toyman, Parasite

Wave 3: Supergirl, Luminus, Kalibak, Bizarro & Mr. Mxyzptlk 2-pack

Someone will have to start a new thread when those get announced!! :clap

I actually hope they announce or at least tease a Superman line this year--either at Toy Fair or SDCC. The timing would be good with all the Batman V Superman hoopla since the movie comes out soon, I could see DCC marketing both lines since there's already so much Batman and Superman hype already.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

On a different subject: I emailed DCC last week and specifically asked if the Batsignal would be sold separately in the future. This was their reply:

The deluxe Batmobile set was not originally planned and is in response to fan requests for figures that had new capes. We added the Bat-Signal piece as an addition.

We will talk about it more at NY Toy Fair so please stay tuned for then.

Kevin
So no definitive answer at all which I kinda expected to be honest.

I really hope they do sell the Bat-Signal separately for the fans who already own the Batmobile and the figures.

But, in my case, since this is the last action figure line I'm collecting (Yes, I'll stop collecting after I'm done with this line), I don't mind buying that Deluxe Set and getting another Batmobile and another Bats and Robin figs to display elsewhere. In fact, I'll really enjoy having a second BTAS Batmobile to display in another shelf, as I love it so much.

But this is just me, though.

That makes two of us. I'll be finishing up BATMAN this week then it's on to SUPERMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE and the rest....

As I've been rewatching the BATMAN episodes, I've made the observation that they've been releasing the characters somewhat in the order of the episodes they first appeared. I've found that rather odd. They also seem to do 2 A-list characters and 2 more obscure/B-list ones. I tried to follow that pattern with my list. I honestly wonder if we'd ever get figures like Perry White, Ma & Pa Kent, and Manheim in a line like this.

I had forgotten about Luminus. How about a 2 pack of Toyman with Lois as the rag doll? Maybe a 2 pack of Toyman with that Barbie robot he had in one episode. What was her name? Darla?

When they do the TNBA Joker what episode do you think he should come from? JOKER'S MILLIONS? I wonder if there'd be a way we could get Penguin's 3 hench women or Mr. Freeze's 3 hench women?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

How many lines have you collected?

Oh, man... Several. :lol

Let's see...
I'm 24 y.o. now and I basically started my "collector life" with the Kenner Batman: The Animated Series line. Got all the "regular" (not variant) figures.
Also got Kenner figures for the Batman Forever and Batman & Robin lines.
Then, naturally, as I grew up in the 90s, I collected several action figure lines of the major Disney movies of the 90s/early 2000s:
Lion King, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Tarzan, Bug's Life, Toy Story (1 and 2), Atlantis and Dinosaur.

Then, the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone figs by Mattel, Spiderman 1 and 2 by Toy Biz, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring figs by Toy Biz, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 by Neca, Star Wars Episode I: Phantom Menace by Kenner.

That makes it 18 lines collected, but I also own Ledger Joker and Bale Batman (both Begins and unmasked TDK suits) from the Mattel Movie Masters line and two figures from The Hunger Games line by Neca and, most important: the extremely rare Eminem action figure by Art Asylum.

I think I can retire now. LMAO

It's really fulfilling to finish my "collector life" with the same show that started it all - Batman: The Animated Series.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Sounds like a cool collection WGD! I wish I had saved more of my figures from when I was a kid! I had all the Batman Kenner, Small Soldiers, Street Sharks, TMNT, Biker Mice ect ect. The Bug's Life stuff sounds awesome! I don't remember any of those. Loved the game though lol.

That Diamond Select Ivy statue looks awesome imo!!!! Love that they used the pumpkin bombs from Almost Got Em! Kinda wish it was PVC rather than resin though. I really like it, but not sure I like it enough to drop a buck fifty on it

I'm not sure if that's possible, but I think Penguin's 3 hench girls have more chance than Freeze's as they appeared un more episodes.

I'm 35 and have been collecting action figures since I was 12. My first line was ALADDIN. I have every DISNEY figure from ALADDIN through TREASURE PLANET when they stopped making them. I have all of the PIXAR figures from TOY STORY through TOY STORY 3 (TNot every film gets a line and I lost interest after that...) I then moved on to the various lines based on Christmas films/cartoons. I've also done some LORD OF THE RINGS, STAR WARS, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, UNIVERSAL MONSTERS, MATTY's GHOSTBUSTERS, PLANET OF THE APES and I have a complete set of PALISADES MUPPETS figures. (I think that's the bulk of my collection...) BATMAN is the first line I've got into in years. I see this as rivaling the MUPPET line.

Someone mentioned A BUG'S LIFE....That line was one of the largest DISNEY ever did. It even had 2 box sets of generic ants and grasshoppers.

They should be a 3 pack if they do either set. They could reuse the same bodies in both cases, right?

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Speaking of Toyman, Poison Ivy, and what we've collected...

3 things, ha ha...

Anybody else think Toyman and Baby Doll would make a great team/couple lol?

Also, anybody know why the heck Poison Ivy was animated in that black bikini in the "Almost got him" episode? There's really no explanation in the episode.

Finally, speaking of retirement -

Just a small chunk. I'm so ready to be done though lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Did some quick work to the Phantasm 2 pack Batman head. Fixed that god AWFUL stubbed nose. I have no idea why they did that.

IMG_6960.jpg

Painted the damn teeth, and decided to add some battle damage, ala the finale to MOTP. Still fiddling with it and refining it, and will probably add more damage to the arm, etc. Just thought I'd share some photos to give an idea of how it looks.

Since Batgirl comes with 3 fist's (I think) and TNBA Robin doesn't come with any, slap on Batgirl's fist's and paint them black. A good fix if you want Robin to throw some actual punches. Girls hands yes, but they fit perfectly, haha.
