Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Did some quick work to the Phantasm 2 pack Batman head. Fixed that god AWFUL stubbed nose. I have no idea why they did that.

Painted the damn teeth, and decided to add some battle damage, ala the finale to MOTP. Still fiddling with it and refining it, and will probably add more damage to the arm, etc. Just thought I'd share some photos to give an idea of how it looks.

Perfect, that's what they should have done. I can't even look at the DCC final product with that head sculpt of yours, looks like it lept out of the movie.

Wouldn't surprise me if DCC's nose got chipped before the molding and test shot process and they just never decided to fix it.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

36 year old here and this line is intended to be my last major collection too........

Also going to start and end my 1:6 collection with the Keaton Returns Batman next month.......

Then going to wind down my Star Wars buying and maybe skip on Episode 8 and 9............

Sounds like good final action figure lines, pug!
I only collected Star Wars Episode I figures, but I do like all films, especially this last one.

I'll be 35 next month, and I keep telling myself that very same thing too...

:lol :lol
I've been telling myself that since I was 15, but now I've seriously made my mind and, yes, this is my final action figure line.

Speaking of Toyman, Poison Ivy, and what we've collected...

3 things, ha ha...

Anybody else think Toyman and Baby Doll would make a great team/couple lol?

Also, anybody know why the heck Poison Ivy was animated in that black bikini in the "Almost got him" episode? There's really no explanation in the episode.

Finally, speaking of retirement -

Just a small chunk. I'm so ready to be done though lol

Poison Ivy wore that black bikini because it was Halloween (she said it was).
She was all dressed up for Halloween night, that's also the reason why she used pumpkin bombs to try to kill Batman.

Amazing collection!!!!

I'm 35 and have been collecting action figures since I was 12. My first line was ALADDIN. I have every DISNEY figure from ALADDIN through TREASURE PLANET when they stopped making them. I have all of the PIXAR figures from TOY STORY through TOY STORY 3 (TNot every film gets a line and I lost interest after that...) I then moved on to the various lines based on Christmas films/cartoons. I've also done some LORD OF THE RINGS, STAR WARS, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, UNIVERSAL MONSTERS, MATTY's GHOSTBUSTERS, PLANET OF THE APES and I have a complete set of PALISADES MUPPETS figures. (I think that's the bulk of my collection...) BATMAN is the first line I've got into in years. I see this as rivaling the MUPPET line.

Someone mentioned A BUG'S LIFE....That line was one of the largest DISNEY ever did. It even had 2 box sets of generic ants and grasshoppers.

Oh, man!! I tried so hard to find the Aladdin figures at the time, but it was late and I couldn't find them in any store...
But I managed to get all those Disney figures I mentioned in my post, including Toy Story 1 and 2 too.

Yes, the Bug's Life line was indeed large. Mattel really got into it. I got all the regular characters + the false/leaves bird.

Sounds like you got a great collection!! I love the Lord of the Rings line, it was so huge and lasted so long.

Sounds like a cool collection WGD! I wish I had saved more of my figures from when I was a kid! I had all the Batman Kenner, Small Soldiers, Street Sharks, TMNT, Biker Mice ect ect. The Bug's Life stuff sounds awesome! I don't remember any of those. Loved the game though lol.

That Diamond Select Ivy statue looks awesome imo!!!! Love that they used the pumpkin bombs from Almost Got Em! Kinda wish it was PVC rather than resin though. I really like it, but not sure I like it enough to drop a buck fifty on it

Thanks!! I tried to save all of them as time passed, though I'm now thinking of donating some of them to my young relatives.
I don't need most of them anymore and also don't have enough space in my room do display 'em. So, instead of keeping 'em in boxes, I decided to give to some relatives. I'll keep the ones I love the most.

Since Batgirl comes with 3 fist's (I think) and TNBA Robin doesn't come with any, slap on Batgirl's fist's and paint them black. A good fix if you want Robin to throw some actual punches. Girls hands yes, but they fit perfectly, haha.

Do you take commissions? That looks so amazing, so dead on too like it jumped off the screen.

Great Job! Yeah...I think there must have been an error in the mold or something. I thought mine was a dud until I saw everyone's was like that.

Where did you get those shelves? I never seem to have enough shelves to put that many in a unit to do what you've done when I buy premade units like that.

On the commentary for ALMOST GOT 'EM someone says Ivy is wearing that costume for Halloween. She's barefoot too. I believe she always wore booties in her standard costume.

I think a Toyman/Baby Doll tram up would be interesting. I watched LOVE IS A CROC last night and I found it creepy how she did baby talk on Croc....

When did you try to get the ALADDIN line? It was always plentiful in my neck of the woods. You've reminded me I'm missing 2 figures from the TV series but I've never seen pictures of them anywhere. MATTEL had them listed in a book but didn't have a picture so who knows if they were ever released. I think 2 of the best DISNEY lines were HUNCHBACK and MULAN. They did a lot of characters with tons of accessories and they were the same scale so they could blend well together. With A BUG'S LIFE I have everything including the Ant Hill playset. You never see much A BUG'S LIFE anymore for some reason and it was a great movie. I have all of the TOY STORY figures up through TOY STORY 3. I haven't kept up with the recent spin off lines. The prices were just getting too high and I quit caring. I didn't even bother with THE GOOD DINOSAUR and that's the first PIXAR line I've missed. I didn't get the BIG HERO 6 line either from DISNEY. I still try to get most of the DISNEY STORE PVC sets though. I have a massive DISNEY PVC figure collection. I must have 5,000 of them from all over the world. It's all in storage at the moment though.

I bought both units at Big Lots. The larger one about 4 years ago and the smaller one about 7. The smaller one actually only had 4 removable shelves originally but I bought 2 more units exactly like it that I later got rid of. I kept a few of the shelves from those units. What you actually see in that pic is 6 interchangeable shelves but there are 2 stacked atop each other at the top and an extra shelf on the very bottom where none is needed. I just decided to store the extras that I'm not currently using that way. The larger unit comes with the 6 shelves you see. I think you can get those selves at Sears too for about the same price as Big Lots.

A black bikini seems like an odd Halloween costume lol. Who or what was she supposed to be?

Heh, I just think the STAS Toyman and TNBA Baby Doll seem made for each other. In a very odd sort of way :FREAK:

I'm not sure who Ivy was meant to be but I see a lot of women dressing like that on Halloween.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I love the custom, TWayne! I really like that little black accent line above the teeth too- it adds a lot. That's the kind of thing I wish DCC would do more often too. It makes them pop and look that much more animated. I noticed they did it on Killer Croc's chest, but nowhere else.

Thanks! Yeah I totally agree. Bane's head is also really awesome with that highlighting. Small details go a long way. Im debating on doing blue highlights to my Batman.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

My Bane keeps falling over every day, meanwhile Baby Doll with her tiny feet and huge head, stays upright,so annoyed!

Everytime I see your signature, I can't help but laugh at Mad Hatter's face and pose. LMAO :lol

He looks so funny in that photo. Look at his face. LMAO

Such an adorable character.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I do like that pic, such a cool pose!

I do too! It's just that he's so funny. haha
And that's the pose I'm displaying my figure.
I have a white teacup just for him, and I'm also adding his mind-control cards. Such classic accessories for him.

I've posed my Mad Hatter with his hands raised like he's going to grab you. I felt that was the best pose at the time. I usually use the fist hands on most of my figures but not all.

I'm about ready to change the pose of my Mad Hatter ha ha. Already using those grabby hands tho.

You know I swear, there is something about this version of Mad Hatter that screams Jerry Sandusky to me. I think it's the teeth, big nose, and almost lack of chin ...And the creepiness. Sorry Jervis :(

That pose was used on an animation cel at the WB store. I suppose the pose fits me lol.
