Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

It's tough keeping up with them all, especially when they look as good as they do. I really want the Batwing but have no space for it so I'll have to pass on it. I wish they would have had it on display though.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Oh, that sucks. They only had it for the press event? I guess they only have one good model of it at the moment then.
Did you see the Batsignal?

Yeah but for some reason I lost the pic (and a couple others) when I imported my memory card to my iPad. If I get around the booth again this week I'll take another pic.

Gotcha. It's not a big deal, again, I was just wondering about the in-person presence.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I think my biggest issue with Bruce is the Capullo mouth. It just looks weird. Particularly when he always seemed to be smirking on the show.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

It's generic and flat, seems rushed. I just watched the end of Mask of Phantasm where his mask is off and he's talking to Alfred and the sculpt really does look nothing like him.

Not to mention he's missing the cowl/hood hanging behind his neck.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Hell just look at Guyvers sig above. The Bruce Wayne sculpt is terrible in terms of accuracy. It's like they dont guide these sculptors at all, and sculptors themselves cant see their own work objectively.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I just hope if they ever get to doing a regular Bruce Wayne, either the Charlie Brown businessman version or the Perchance to dream turtle neck/wall climbing gear, that they use a brand new head for it and not a reuse of this one plopped on a new body.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

From a play-by-play of this morning's panel:

12:39
New Batman Adventures Catwoman and Riddler are coming, along with a new Batman that includes one body but an entire set of alternate heads showing his entire set of expressions, and several alternate capes.

12:39
An animated Superman and Lois Lane two-pack is coming. The Superman line will start some time around June next year.

I guess the expressions/cape pack will include a Batman figure. How can they charge so much for a single figure then, if they can do this much for $10 more?

There might be several reasons... Just speculating here...

1. The average price of 6" figures nowadays is $20-$25 anyway.
2. There "must" be always a "regular" Batman on any Batman line, which means one with one head and one cape.
3. A figure that has this many accessories like the "Expressions Batman" is clearly a deluxe (at least to me), so its price should be raised.
4. Not everyone is interested in having 7 heads and 4 capes for their Batman. So why force the customer to buy a Batman with that many heads and capes? It's much better to offer as many options as possible.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Good point, the base figure would be a re-use as opposed to a new sculpt.
Also true that not everyone would want it. I'm still on the fence about it myself, but I may go for it. Oddly enough, it's because of the extra Batman included. That way I can definitely use one of the heads/capes right away. Plus, the signal 2pk would get one of them.

Another good scale shot:

I had previously stated that I would not buy the Expressions Batman because I don't see the need to have so many expressions for him.
However, after seeing the "in person" prototype at SDCC, I kinda am on the fence about it, too. They look really cool.

But I know that, after the hype of buying it passes, I would not enjoy all of those faces.
You see - I only use one of the two capes that came with the BTAS Robin - the half-draped one. I've NEVER - ever - used the other one. LMAO

Also, I own the Revoltech Woody and Buzz, from Toy Story. Both come with alternate faces. I've only used one of the faces for both. Have NEVER used the other ones.

Plus, I already own two Batmen - one displayed with the other figures and one inside the Batmobile. I don't even have space for so many Batmen. I have to save space for the other - many - characters.

But that's just me... Don't know about you guys here.

That's really cool that they did that with the torn mask. I hate to be that guy...but

they kinda did it on the wrong side. It's ok, animation gets flipped all the time, right? [emoji14]

I feel you, man. I didn't know it came with a figure and those extra accessories too. A fig, 4 capes, 7 heads and those extra accessories for $35 bucks really isn't bad at all. Now I'm back on the other side of the fence. Knowing how fickle I am with these figs though, I'll be back to your side again eventually lol.

I really want to see this stand. If it's decent that would really sweeten the deal

Nice catch with the ripped mask Capt. That's actually pretty cool. This set is sounding a hell of a lot better than I had initially thought

Edit: I think this set actually needs the new Batman fig. Just tried to pop the head of my Phantasm set Batman and that **** will not budge lol. I'm sure I could get it off, but definitely not easily like TNBA Batman
