Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

They said they are basing these off the original model sheets, so Robin should be a full head shorter than Batman.

Still... the pic is a photoshop job and may not accurately reflect the figure heights.

Sallah

Bruce is definitely wearing a 90's suit :lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

What Sallah said.

Though, the model scale sheets tended to be a bit strange considering the characters were all in different poses and perspectives. They didn't seem to take those differences into consideration. If Batman was turned facing the same direction, he'd be a little shorter. Likewise, Robin should be standing on the first line, not hovering below it, no?

Not to mention episodes like Robin's Reckoning and Christmas with the Joker never really depicted Robin being that short. Maybe an inch or so shorter than the Joker. He was an adult, college student about to graduate, not a middle school kid. :lol

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

I'll send you mine for free.

Why thank you, sir. The truth is that, while I may ***** and moan about the packaging, and, while I try to rationalize the holes, even though I'm not the biggest fan, these are still fantastic figures, and I definitely still want them. Any way you look at it, you're getting a pretty great value for what you're paying. I look at The Joker, and I'm particularly "wowed." With the exception of the soft goods, you're getting each of these figures, with just about as much stuff as the Mezco TDKR figures for less than half the price. That's nuts in this market, and I can kind of see why they might want people to buy duplicates.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Nah, man. That was old school '40s style tailoring. Loike you'd shee in a Jemmy Shtewaht movie.

:lol Yeah, I know, man. It's a little like a zoot suit, just not as flashy. And kudos to the Jimmy Stewart reference, now I can't get his voice outta my head. :rotfl

Exactly. Having this Batman out, fiddling around with him and seeing how loaded he is with stuff... makes it REALLY hard to justify the cost on the Mezco line. I will still get an '89 figure if they do it... but with these DCC Animated figures are offering a whole helluva lot of bang for your buck, I am going to have a hard time justifying spending the same amount (or more) unless the product REALLY thrills me.

I just love that everyone trying to get Batman to watch "It's a wonderful life" was a huge part of "Christmas with The Joker." The part I always get a kick out of is when you find out that they're watching Gordon's bootleg copy at the end. I can't help but imagine Batman & Robin following Gordon home in the Batmobile, then waiting outside on his porch while he ran in to go and get it.:lol

I can't wait for your review, man. Are you going to do these one figure at a time, or are you going to wait for the whole wave?

I think it works pretty well. Largely, their heels are lined up when the feet are posed sideways. If you pivot them around in different ways they'll still appear as roughly the same height. The one problem case there for me is Joker, since he's bending his neck forward. Penguin is also slouched, but since he's always posed in that position it makes sense.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

Well I'm weak. After work I swung by and picked up a Batman. This will be the only TNBA figure I buy so I figured, why not.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

This is easily the best Batman figure DCC/DCD has ever done. From the accessories to the stand to the subject matter, it's about as close to perfect as possible. It felt like a Hot Toys unboxing with all the extra hands and accessories. So worth the $25.

You wouldn't pick up a TNBA scarecrow? Scarecrow was probably one of my favorite redesigns from TNBA. A lot of people didn't like all the redesigns but I was pretty much fine with most of the changes.

Re: DC Collectibles doing Batman The Animated Series figures!!!!!

After looking at photos of the extra hand sculpts I can't help (or hope) but think that those larger open grip hands could potentially be for gripping a steering wheel or bike handles......
