Stinkin Necromorphs are around every corner!

Anyone plan on getting the DVD movie of this? Dead Space Downfall on the 28th?

Heres the trailer

I got it today in the ULE. Watched it during dinner. It's not bad, animation is sort of reminiscent of the old MTV Aeon Flux series to me. It fills in some backstory, but since you pretty much know most everybody has to die, it sort of lacks much suspense in the storyline.

I would give it a C+ (compared to the game's solid A). Watchable, but if you're expecting Akira, Ghost in the Shell or even the Animatrix, you'll be let down.

On a totally different topic, if you aren't playing this game with at least a good 5.1 audio rig, you're missing half the game. I'm 100% this thing will sweep any sound design game awards it's eligible for.

It seems like a better version of the animated comics on Xbox Live. I'll give it a look-see but I don't plan on purchasing it.

The animated movie covers a different part of the timeline.

The online comics (and the print ones) cover the time period between the discovery of the Marker on the planet and the eventual destruction of the colony. They basically cover the death of the colony.

The Downfall DVD mainly covers the time between the Marker being transferred from the colony to the Ishimura and the arrival of the repair ship with Isaac Clarke aboard, or the death of the Ishimura.

Okay, I'm around 6 hours into the game and I like it. Is anyone encountering a problem with the navigation icon (the right analogue stick function)? It steered me into a circle on one occasion and led me the wrong way a couple times. A bit annoying, but if everything was easy I guess it wouldn't be much fun.

I havent been using it because I dont want the help. But if it comes down to it I will.

I can't get enough of this game!! There is a sweet 'Star Wars' moment in chapter 4 where you can man a Cannon (a la Luke & Han Vs. Tie Fighters) and you have to blast some incoming asteroids to defend the ships hull from being damaged. The Achievement for that is "Don't Get Cocky Kid"! :rock

Has Lucas filed suit yet?

I have been using that a lot and so far I have not noticed any problems with it. But IGN did mention in their review that it has taken them in circles a few times and not worked properly.

I did HORRIBLE at that part, I ended up with 3% of the hull being intact at the end :(. You need at least 50% for that achievement.
