PLEASE tell me the sword isnt bent or WONT be bent in final version!!
it looks bent in that video but being a prototype maybe they used plastic instead of metal??
does it look bent to anyone else?
It looked bent to me at first, but after re-watching I think it's just the curve of the katana and the angle of the camera giving the illusion of being bent.. i don't know, maybe it is ..they better make it solid cause that's definitely a concern.
I noticed the same thing today. hope not
Hmmmm ...now that looks bent.
This is truly a great sculpt! ....But at the same time, I hope SSC can reinforce that sword.
I saw that from a different view (in another picture) last night and noticed that as well. The thought of the sword finally snapping over time due to the weight/pressure immediately came to mind.
Anybody go to the Con can confirm? The video and pic it looks bent
Sorry but a bent samurai sword, deal breaker city for me. I hope thats not a design choice or a design flaw because either would discourage.
Here we go
You know that you have to get the sky is falling reaction before every statue release.
Yes because bent pieces NEVER happened with Sideshow, right?
Like long rifles on Baroness, Boba Mythos, Punisher pf. I went through four replacements of the Conan Rage of the Undying and every single one had a bent mace in the right hand, all bent at different angles so definitely not intentional. Arnold Conan arrived with a bent banana hilt. And let's not start about bends (leans) on entire statues like Superman Pf.
It's a perfectly legitimate concern, regardless of what the overly defensive fanboys pretend on here.
straight from the man himself...regarding the base. Also I'm floored for NYC con based off his second comment.
"Yes, there is a transparent shell that goes over this. We've all seen smoke and fire bases; I wanted to see if we could represent the "blast wave" or "shock wave" you see in those awesome 10,000-frame-per-second images of a real explosion -- with some necessary artistic license. We are still tweaking the transparency level to get it right.
Cheers

"Once again, thanks for the support. We were very proud of our showing this year. But if I listed the new pieces that were almost ready but didn't make it you guys would flip. It's probably a good thing though. The internet might have melted. Stay tuned for New York Comic Con is all I can say."
Cheers
