Another recent policy change is that SS no longer gives websites commisions on 1/6 figures sold through banner links. I wonder what's in store next?

I do believe they are doing this to avoid cancellations. However, I don't agree with giving a company money months in advance for a product that A) the don't actually have yet and B) may not be the final product.

I understand their thinking. Just take a look at all of the second chance opportunities. However, I think this is a severe blow to what this company stands for. I simply don't agree. Again though, in todays business environment companies all over are going for profits in lieu of services.

Oh most definitely! QC does play a big role as well and I agree with that.

Dude, it's the #1 (by far) factor. The sad thing is that they seemingly have tried everything else now before just fixing the QC issues and their flawed/dated production process. And that's a damn shame, because it reflects very poorly on the notion of whether they have any pride in their own products and makes it look like all they're really focused on are margins and bottom lines.

It's speculation this a new policy anyways, it's for one product that is going to be a hard sell.

Well I think QC and just people not having the money at the time are probably tied for #1 for reason of canceling.

As they get bigger and bigger I suppose this will be more and more true.

Really? So I don't have to click on Dave's links anymore?

Sideshow really is a great company that just can't get out of their own damn way sometimes.

Agreed. I'm waiting though for the apologists who can't separate the cool people who work for the company like Dusty, Chicky, Alex, Dennis, etc. from the company itself.

I've been wondering about this for a while though. From what I've seen, I actually wonder if they even acknowledge that there's anything wrong with their product, or solely place blame on the collectors for not buying it. We've seen this attitude rear it's ugly head every time they cancel a line.

Great point!

I wonder though if people actually click that or if they do, like I have many times in the past, just click the first button which is "personal financial reasons" just to hurry up and get the order canceled. I wonder if QC was the majority of the cancels they received if they would have gone another way given the data in hand....

Because poking your head in any one of the product threads here wouldn't have given you everything you need to know? Even Sideshow is capable of telling between the douchy people who're never satisfied with anything and a general dissatisfaction with a finished product. And while we don't represent the majority of the market, we do represent a vast customer base. :huh

Yea that is a good point. Would be nice to see some of the data from SSC (not that I think we would ever see that), but then again to your point how accurate is that because people might just check it to get it canceled. I usually TRY to be as honest as I can.

Actually if the numbers still hold true we even in our large numbers represent somewhere between 3 and 8% of the base. Sideshow even said in on here a year or so ago that the FREAKS boards while they love us is a small percentage of their actual consumer base.

As for the threads, in reality there is so much bull ____ on a lot of the threads, with junior photoshop artists and screaming and yelling both ways, I guarantee you that those who do post on here, who all have other jobs to do at Sideshow, don't want to wade through that. It would take a dedicated person to just wade through it and grab actual constructive posts to share with the QC team and I seriously doubt they have that.

I know. I really get the impression that there are a few key people at Sideshow who are clinging to their dated production process like a mama bear to its cubs. Let that ____ go, improve the process (thus QC) and get with the damn times. They've certainly let their prices get with the times already, though.
