you know you guys sound pathetic dont you...talking about your depressions and ''soulmates'' on an internet toy forum...lmao...go see a psy...I swear to god, some of you guys sound like retarded rejects who have no friends in real life and need to talk about their personnal issues via an on-line forum...The internet is never a place to find comfort believe me....Get a life....Well I guess whatever floats your boat...but :monkey4

As crudely as this was stated, it does bear some truth; people aren't going to find any sort of help by just venting their personal issues on a public forum for everyone to see. Misery loves company and besides the typical, empathetical replies like , "I feel you, bro", "I've been there too, bro", "hang in there, bro" - you're not going to get any sort of help for what ails ya. It's probably best to seek professional counseling from a psychiatrist, so that they can help you deal with whatever problems are going on...

sometimes it's a good thing to know someone can relate to your problem and discussion is a great way to get things out in the open. some may not be able to do this in person. can't see how that hurts anyone enough to come into the thread and bash the posts or personalities of others. if it helps just one person, why should people bash the effort? mom used to say, if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing.

yeah. "I feel you, bro", "I've been there too, bro", "hang in there, bro"
for those phrases to work, you actually have to pay someone $$$.

I wasn't bashing anyone. Besides getting it out in the open, no one's being helped. They're just feeding the issue by chatting it up with other depressed people and becoming more depressed in the process. If it's severe enough, it's something that needs to be treated; not coddled or just discussed about with strangers. To put it in perspective, if you have a cold, you'll take medicine for it, because you don't want that sickness in your body; you just want the discomfort to end. And even though depression is a mental health issue, there are reasons for it, and there are treatments available. So, I'd say, be more proactive, get off of just discussing it on SSF, and find a way to get rid of it (whether it involves changes in diet, medical or professional counseling). As someone who once suffered from depression, I fully understand that it can be a monster to deal with. But, you don't have to live with it, if you don't want to.

you didn't bash me for starting this thread? that's good to know! thanks for your opinion...bro. :lol

btw, for anyone interested. bro is derived from the word brother. when someone shares a common interest, hobby or problem that we can relate to, we can be considered brothers. even insulting, bashing and nay-saying posters have others in this thread that share a common interest. are we all that much different?

Depression isn't like a "common interest" hobby, to be shared and promoted. It's a psychological problem that has to be addressed by the person who's suffering from it, and something that can be treated and eventually cured. But, you're free to live the way you want - even disregarding sincere posts as "bashing" and "nay-saying". So... carry on, folks :lol.

can't put my finger on it but i've felt very blah for a couple of months now. i've lost interest in many of my hobbies and my favorite foods don't taste like they used to. i don't get very excited anymore and don't look forward to things like i used to.

i'm wondering if these are signs of depression. i don't like meds and really don't want to take anti-depressants, but i need to wake up from this funk.

anybody ever feel this way?

Apart from starting this thread, what have you done to help address your frame of mind?

Shai, you have fun with that. I am sure you do and that is a real sad state to be in. I lost 3 family members in the last 6 months. One being a father. I just lost my second mother (my grandmother) last week. If people want the support of others, that doesn't make them weak or a loser. The fact you bully people behind a computer, yeah makes you really tough big guy.

Just ignore him people. He's not worth it.
