Jesus Christ people! I don't just stroll up and take it. I'll ask whoever's in charge first. Plus, alot of companys don't have the time nor patience to remove old appliances themselves. Therefore, I just ask if I could help them remove it for free, take it home, and strip it! And for all of those who say, "you'd be better off just getting a job", I've applied for over 20 locations and it seems as though nobody wants to hire a 16 year old!

I FEEL FOR U BRO its not as easy as people think to get a job at that age. when i was that age it was impossible to get a job because the employers get to pick and chose who they want to employ and they dont really want really young people. your best bet at that age is to get an apprentaship and learn a decent trade whilst getting paid small amount of $$$.

like i said man, its a very low profit idea, you dont get much per KG or LBS like $7 a KG, minimum over here an hour is 8, theres no way you could find a KG every hour

appliances may be another story, but as for straight up copper etc witch you get more for, no job site will give it to you, trust me

work a McDonald's, i did back in the day. nothing wrong with starting somewhere, any job is better then no job

really dude...its spelled all ^^^^ed up but it means to work with someone who knows a trade and learn from them...you are their apprentice...you learn the job as you work with them...hoping that one day you can do the same job as the teacher and make the same money....I had some ^^^^ jobs bro..been at mc donalds and burger king....money will come...you are only 16...enjoy that ^^^^ before you know it you will be 30! :lol:lol

just bag groceries, man. that's what i did as a teenager. "paper or plastic, ma'am?" "would you like it in the backseat or the trunk?"
sometimes a MILF would drive up and i'd want to take her into the backseat and put it in her trunk.

so if I have 1000 posts I can call him an idiot? What difference does it make?

also, further down the page he's talking about buying a HDTV from the money from his job, now he's not got a job anymore and plans on selling scrap metal.
Sounds like he telling tales one way or the other.

kodiak??? :lol :lol :lol

when you just leave an application, you'll never get hired. if when you fill out the application, you ask to speak to the person hiring and tell them you are very motivated to work hard and want to start right away, you'll get hired more often than not.

It's true. You have to press the issue. So many little kids leave applications so they just call the person on top. You have to call and annoy them unfortunately... unless you are actually in demand with some skill.

So, I'm telling tales because I want a HDTV, but can't fund one? Plus, I never had a job to start out with, so scrap metal is really my only option seeing as over 20 establishments show no interest in me.

Kinda hard to speak with a Supervisor or Manager while applying online huh?

Applying online? No no. I think you have it all wrong. When you are 16 you have to kick it old school and hoof it around town. Mall, skate shops, wherever they will take you. Try it out and see what happens.

here's a snippet incase you can't remember.

So, I FINALLY found a job and it's an awesome one! I'll be working at the local theatre, Regal Cinemas! Therefore, I'll have a constant flow of cash coming my way. My question is, should I save up and buy an HDTV or go ahead and pick up some of the collectibles that I've been dying to get ahold of? All input is welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,

aren't you supposed to be kodiak as well? :lol

i always thought high school should include a class in applying for a job. so many younger people just aren't privy to the hiring process. you can apply for a hs level job online?
