Im interested...

Only read the first three and prolly wont get around to the rest.

I think if you got to book three, you've seen the worst.

Four - Six aren't very good, but they're enjoyable enough as instantly disposable reads. I bring them on trips, read them before bed, and never think of them again. But book three with that demon nonsense was truly awful.

Season four was an absolute shocker and ever since they could never quite replace Rita as the major foil for Dexter's lifestyle. The writers had him break his own code the very next season with that stupid bathroom kill and he started pre-processing criminals before they even had a chance to go through the legal process. I definitely agree that the aforementioned "big bad" formula was overused too.

I also agree it would have been incredible to fast forward to Harrison's teen years and watch Dexter try to corale the boy's burgeoning killer instinct. Death by his own blood in the end might have been the best way to go.

Just got caught up...:slap:slap:slap:slap

Now that Breaking Bad and Low Winter Sun are on I am not watching the first airing. Only a few more terrible episodes left!

They showed Vogal with the brain chunk at the end but I am predicting that they will try and have one final twist at the end. The problem I see happening is that the real killer will be someone like the neighbor's boyfriend....and nobody will give a crap.

I was going to say the same thing. If he read book 3 he read the worst crap of them all.

That's what I was saying, at least that didn't happen to Dexter on the show :lol

like, that is such a ridiculous concept :rotfl can't even think about it without laughing.

The show might have ended in a boring way. but at least it never got that bad.

i understand now it's pretty boring. it is lame,

But they pretty much decided to end the show with a regular, typical, nothing special season of Dexter.

If we didn't know this was the final season, if there was another season coming, I don't think people would be as disappointed. Because this season was typical boring Dexter.

I guess the writers wanted to give Dexter a happy ending. and I for one am more happy that dexter never went to jail or got killed by anyone.

I don't feel like I'm watching this season as much as I'm just sticking it out to the bitter end.

To anyone who wants to watch this show in the years ahead I would just say watch the first two seasons, and maybe the season with Trinity. Skip the rest.

You should watch season three if for no other reason than the scene where a man was almost stabbed in the chest for real. :lol

Word! Tonight's episode was another awful 50 minutes. I will not be recommending this series to people who have never watched it. There are too many other good shows out there.

what? what happened?

From Wikipedia:

Filming one take of the scene in which Miguel kills Fleeter, Smits accidentally picked up a real knife instead of a prop knife and stabbed Jeff Chase in the chest. Though he was not wearing "a metal breastplate like a lot of actors do in a scene like that," Chase had a piece of plastic "the size of a Post-it note" over his heart which was struck by the knife. He was unable to stop Smits when he picked up the knife as he was bound in Saran wrap and had his mouth taped shut with duct tape for the scene. Chase said that in rehearsals Smits had missed the plastic with the prop knife "eight out of ten times."

Wow!!! That story was more entertaining than the last four seasons. Lol. That is crazy! Thanks for sharing.

I would have assumed that the rule would be No knives on set!!!
