We really have our expectations too high for this show. If you consider that the last episode of Season 4 should've been the series finale, then you can just watch the other seasons like they're fan fiction or something.

I mean, the ending for Season 4 was so epic that it will not be topped.

Again, this season proves that Dexter continues to lose his edge. He makes too many rookie mistakes and his judgement sucks now. I think giving Dexter a kid so early in the series as well as killing Rita off so early in the series painted them into a corner.

I'd can believe that Dexter would began to truly have his first real signs of "feelings" for Debra and even Rita because there was so much foundation laid for it. It was a progression, it made sense, it was symbolic (Deb on the ITK's table and Rita in the bloodbath) but I just can't see Dexter being so quick to fall for Hannah nor can I see him trusting Vogel so fast. Consider earlier in the series when Dexter began to ponder whether Harry did the right thing, like maybe Dexter could've had a chance at a more normal life. The symbolism is there with Vogel, regardless of who the killer is, she is the Brain Surgeon at least metaphorically because she essentially programs a killer. I don't think it made much sense for Dexter to be so quick to trust her or Hannah given his past dealings.

like I said, Debra and Rita made sense to me because they very much filled the roles of the vicitims. They suffered for being close to Dexter. Now, I guess the pitch is that Dexter deserves to be with somebody like him.....

Better writing would help alot.

The show's biggest problem is that it's had the same formula for multiple seasons. Dexter is in turmoil with his personal life, new killer in town, Dexter kills said killer, the end.

Totally agree with both posts!
Dexter went from being my fav show and having friends over for Dexter viewing parties to pure "meh." :monkey2

:rotfl

It USED to be very captivating. Season three was pretty meh with Jimmy Smitts but season four turned it around. Then we got the guy from Hackers "Zerocool" as the killer :lol

I like the up till season 6 with it being the Worst. Then it want downhill.

Edward James olmos. I thought they were both bad :lol

We really didn't need a new super serial murderer every ******* season. Season 2 worked fine without it. It was all about Doakes being up Dexter's ***.

Honestly, this should've been the ending. I would've taken it.

This show sucks...

BUT! At least the show never got as retarded as the books did. Seriously if you guys hate the show right now, you would have vomit if the show was ever like the books..

Seriously, The guy writing Dexter is pretty nuts.

I could spoil it for you, but the books got really ridiculous. Like, worse than Jumping the shark ridiculous.

Moderately. They were hits. But I think after the show did it's thing, and the books did it's thing, people stopped being interested in the books.

Agreed on the books. The first 2 were good but after that it went horribly wrong.

The show was never ever worse than the later books.

Dr. Danco should've been in the series though, that was an awesome character!
