Omg
Just finished the finale...
You probably said everything but i need to vent lol
How pointless was Debbie ´s death.
Dropping her into the sea like all of his victims instead of making her special.
Abandoning his son...
Faking his death...
Pointless and no guts...

What I don't understand is why not have Dexter working with fish? with boats?

They could have had the exact same ending but have Dexter be a fisherman or something.
Wouldn't that have fit better with his character??

Exactly :clap :yess: :lol

That I would have expected. He has a lot of experience with boats and fishing. It's pretty much his other hobby besides killing.
He really cared about his boat and he is good at sea.

I really don't get why Lumberjack when he could have easily worked on a boat or on His own boat.

Great review and spot on in all points. Season 4 was the peak, Trinity was a great final villain for Dex.

If Dex ended at Season 4 with him lifting Harrison and the rest being left to our imagination, it would have been talked about as a great show for a long time to come. As it is, it seems that the last few seasons will end up overshadowing the good stuff. :monkey2

Yep, agreed. When I picked-up the Blu-ray's a year or two back, I stopped at season IV for that reason. There really is no point in watching after that. Not that there aren't some good parts or characters, like Issac, but they don't progress the story in any meaningful way.

Ohhh, and in regards to the finale, really agree with the others that have posted that stealing Deb from the hospital (besides being totally implausible) and dumping her at sea was a pretty sick and to me, out of character thing for Dex to do. He'd have known that the department would want to give her a proper funeral and stuff. Just really stupid, lazy writing, as usual. Hope the writers feel like **** with how their final season is being compared to Breaking Bad's. :D

Dexter only cares about Dexter, and the only thing that matters is what Dexter does to make Dexter happy.

Dexter's a selfish *********. Easily one of the worst characters as it stands.

Before the episode aired I was expecting some really cheesy funeral where Quinn and Angel would talk about her, and where Masuka would start crying or something.

I don't know before the spoilers about Dexter taking her body I imagined a funeral in typical Dexter style. Long, boring, cheesy and pointless :lol

8 1/2 minutes just wasn't long enough to cover everything that went wrong: Harry, Vogel, Zac...

Dexter will became a film school curriculum staple in "how not to write a series". Season 5 kind of reminds me of Ralph Wiggum's broken heart :lol

I still have zero problems with season 5; I like it a lot in fact. It suffers as a result of following Lithgow's whirlwind, but I thought it was a very entertaining season.

It’s how i see dexter now as a **** show you cant start off strong and end weak.

I liked season 5 as well. Never really had the problems other people have. It was alright.
I was okay with season 3 as well. I liked Miguel a lot. he was cool.

I used to really really hate season 6, But season 8 changed my mind about that season.
I still hate it, but not as much. season 8 was the worst one
