Just thought I would give everyone a heads up on this. I had no idea that these things had an expiration date. I may be in the minority in not knowing. However, since I found that out last night I started downloading all the ones up that I could.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind this? Seems a bit silly to me. :dunno

Yep, I just put a ton on my Mac and missed out on TDK,Terminator Salvation, and Watchmen. It seems that all the different studios have different longevity as to when they expire. Disney seems to be be the most lenient in giving us more time.

I love the idea of DC but that is straight bull ____ that they expire.

I have yet to transfer to Digital copy to a device. What expires, the code, or the image on the disc?

Glad I'm not the only one that didn't know.

I believe it is the codes. Once they expire you can't get your free digital copy. Glad I checked. The Hangover was set to expire on the 15th of this month. :horror

so can I just transfer them to my computer now, for a later transfer to a digital device later?

I DL all of mine right away because of this. The only one it's ever happened to me on is the Burton Batman.

I have about 9 movies on my iPhone right now. :D

The way Warner Bros puts it on the little card, is that it is a "bonus" feature meant for only the initial release period... in other words, yeah, to get you to buy it sooner! :rotfl

I got the four Harry Potter Ultimate Editions during the sale Warner Bros store sale, and when I received them, I had 2 days left to get the digital copies on the first two!!! Glad I looked at that little card as soon as I opened them!

LOL I couldn't really care less. If I want a movie on a portable device I'll just download it for free.

Thanks for the heads up on this though...now i have a lot of new coasters for my drinks. :)

I didn't use any of those digital copies until I got my Ipad a few months ago. But yeah, I sorta knew there were expiration dates but was hoping Itunes wouldn't really follow them. :rotfl:rotfl

I didn't know they expired until I tried to transfer them all at the same time before an upcoming trip. Needless to say 4 digital copies were all expired before I even thought about transfering them.

Total crap I say.

How much space does one flick actually take up? I have an external I can put some on, but at least to me its not worth filling it up on copies I may or may not watch.

I knew. I just didn't care. I don't use digital copies. I don't need a bluray, a dvd and a digital copy of a movie.

Typically about a gig and a half. I have about ninety digital copies stored on an external drive, and I routinely sync them and and off of my iPhone and iPad in a steady rotation. I am a big supporter of digital copies, and I get a lot of use out of them--especially the kids movies. There's nothing like pulling a movie out of your pocket and keeping your kids occupied while you shop or wait in a long line. (I also am a big fan of doing things legally, and teaching my kids to do the same.)

Blu-ray for the living room, DVD for the van, digital copy for the grocery store.
