You can transfer them, but you cant make copies of them, so you cant have one on one computer, and another on someone elses computer.

Hey, it's free, and legal. Not that I give a ____....but downloading movies is a lot sketchier then downloading music. IMO atleast.

I may need to do mine soon so they don't all expire. How big are the files typically for a movie?

Does anyone know if its true you can't put digital copies on Android phones? Tried to get inception on it, but it wont play. Looked on some other forums and it said Droid doesn't support DMR for digital copies, whatever that is.

This is true. The digital copies supplied with Blu-Ray discs require special software that makes sure you can't share your copy (digital rights management, or DRM). Usually, you'll need Windows Media Player or iTunes to get it to work on your computer or phone. Neither are supported on Android. :monkey2

DRM is such a joke. It does nothing to impede piracy, but everything to inconvenience paying customers. Ditto for those "If you pirate, we will shoot you in the face" commercials that are edited out of every pirated copy, but cannot be skipped on legit copies.

I cracked the DMR so I can play them on all my computers now. But I'm no fan of Digital Copies. Waste of time for me.

Lame. I really wanted it on my phone.

So if I download these onto my computer, I can then transfer it on to my iPod? Will it still be on my computer then? And if I delete it from my iPod, would I be able to put it back on if need be? Reason I'm asking is because I only have an 8g iPod touch.

I know it was said earlier but some of these still work after the expiration dates. I just redeemed my digital copy for Wanted which said it may not be valid after 12/31/09. So it is safe to assume Universal titles work after their expiration dates.

It could be that the dates are just there for them to cover their butts should the 3rd party distribution services (like iTunes) go under or stop allowing this kind of thing.

It does say, may not be valid on some and it says expires on others.

I got a new external HD from Amazon yesterday and started saving some of my digital copies over this morning. Seven Disney and Pixar movies so far. :yess:

I expected to have more than I found, but I guess Disney hasn't been doing them very long. Not all Disney or Pixar Blu-rays have this option. And Dreamworks seems to not do it at all. :monkey2

Sweet man! That's what I do. I have a 2 TB external hard drive that holds my digital copies and music for Itunes.
I have 93 digital copy movies so far. :horror

I think this question has been answered, but I want to ask again:

If I download a bunch of digital copies to my computer/external HD and a few years later, get a new computer, will those copies transfer to a new computer? I know you can't have same copy on TWO computers, but I was curious if you can move them as you get a new computer.
