Stephens is already mainly a stage actor so he can bring the theatrical effect Doom NEEDS, and we could get his mother, Maggie Smith, as Cynthia. It's ****ing perfect casting. Anybody who needs that validated just go watch Black Sails.

Give him a dye and I'd even take him as an old school Stark in a more serious reboot.

Trank's [Ultimate] FF film was solid in its first two acts. Third act was almost non-existent and re-shot to hell. So we'll never know how good said film was until the DC is released.

Ultimate F4 was filled with quips and pop culture references while making everything modernized and energetic. Where 616 F4 was full of fantastical and whimsical sci-fi, Ultimate went for a more realistic but "fun" approach. Trank's flick was merely gloomy. Their similarities are as many as its similarities with 616 F4.

I will say that the leaked script did sound pretty good though. The auditorium full of skeletons, the Annihilus cameo, the Galactus nod. People just need to take it easy and stop cramming stuff in F4 flicks.

DOFP was designed to pull a Star Trek '09 on the franchise. Not to end it.

The possibilities are endless now in the X-verse. We're getting movies (and shows) that seemed impossible under Rothman ten years ago.

Also, FOX is by no means expecting $1.5 Billion out of any of these films. And that's a good thing. R-rated Marvel CBMs are only being made at FOX because they're not trying to compete with Disney's made-for-kids formula. WOLVERINE 3, DEADPOOL 2, X-FORCE (even GAMBIT is rumored to have an R-rating)...we're getting [appropriately] mature content with those movies because the studio isn't expecting Avengers numbers.

Disney can't be bested at making accessible family-friendly summer popcorn. They're the new Transformers franchise (a Kevin Feige dream come true).

Right now, FOX is the underdog embracing its underdog status, by making smaller, more cerebral movies that appeal to an older audience. Even DOFP which cost $250 Million never felt as over the top and bloated as Civil War & Age of Ultron - which cost the same.

Apocalypse is a misstep. Not a defeat.



Nor will you. Never gonna happen.
