I understand the negativity at the fox/Disney deal in general. It is....disconcerting that Disney might have that much control over that much intellectual property. Every concern I've heard about that, I think, is valid. But as for the X-Men specifically, I don't really get it. Fox's X-Men, as much as I like many of the movies, are kind of an incohesive mess. You know why I'm okay with Disney getting them? So I can watch an *****king X-Men film and not an Wolverine....and various 3rd wheels and cameos movie. Just because Deadpool and Logan were great(and I still think that's an opinion. I think Logan is very good and Deadpool is fun but overated) doesn't mean Fox's output has been consistant in anyway. I loved Days of Future Past but....so many characters don't speak. Cyclops and Jean appear in one scene. And I can go on and on about the overuse of Mystique and the Xavier/Magneto dynamic(which I love but shouldn't dominated EVERY X-Men movie). I want an real, ensemble X-Men film. So for all the negatives many have thought of about the deal in general, the X-Men coming over isn't one of them. Deadpool is not gonna magically disappear. Disney isn't going to throw out guaranteed moneymakers. And if New Mutants makes money, they'll sequalize that too. Now, will they mess with stuff? Certainly. I wouldn't be shocked if suddenly Brolin's Cable is used as some plot device to explain why the X-Men are now part of this world and many other concessions. But thinking all this stuff they've started is just...dead is nonsense. And obviously FF coming over can ONLY be a good thing as Fox is clueless on those characters.
