That's pretty normal.
At least this will stop the constant tinkering with the movies.
And 7-8-9 is a direction I always preferred to go rather than backwards.
Hope they don't rush this, but it sounds like it already is. They've given themselves 2.5 years to prepare for a trilogy and deliever the first film.
I'm a very nervous passenger right now.
LOL, I agree - I loved his Star Trek movie
As drooling as I would be for those, does this deal apply only to Lucasfilm, or is LucasArts included in that?

It's not like they don't have an established backstory to work from though, but yeah, this could end up reeeeeeeeeeally bad.
That's why I'm hoping they just pull from the very rich EU...The Thrawn Trilogy? How awesome would those be!? Alas, the recasting of the core OT cast seems like an insurmountable obstacle.
Don't want anymore Star Wars animation. Live action or nothing.
So we'll have a PT, an OT, and now a ST?
Completely agree. I want a new story, but if this is what we're going to get I think animation is the best way to go.
If they do Luke, Han, and Leia that is... I'd rather them take on another era. I happen to love the Expanded Universe and don't wanna see the continuity of that thrown out the window.
