2015:

Avengers 2
The Justice League
Third Hobbit movie
Avatar 2
STAR WARS EPISODE VII

Is it too early to buy Comic Con 2014 tickets?!?

Hmmm....so can they fire Lucas now and get someone in there to handle SW properly?

I have a hunch that there's a line in the contract that says that Lucas can't be fired from this. He's money hungry (why would he need 4 billion anyway, as he is apparently the sole shareholder?), but he also wants to maintain some control over it all.

My one cinematic "regret" was having kids after the last SW movie came out. Sure they can see re-releases but I never thought they'd get to truly experience the "phenomenon" of a new SW film, let alone trilogy.

My daughter will be 8 and my son (Luke!) will be 5 in 2015. I don't care if they're no better than the PT. This is a profoundly spectacular announcement.

So Disney owns ESPN, Marvel Comics, and now Star Wars?!? They got something for every type of nerd there is.

I'm gonna laugh my ass off when all the Lucas-hating tittybaby whiners are begging for him to come back when they realize that even the PT was better than the garbage Disney will put out in 2015. :rotfl

Indeed...we'll see the endless parade of posts from all of those whose "childhoods were raped" by the prequels forgiving the rapist...won't that be fun?

Honestly, I think Disney would've been better off setting up a new SW in either the Old Republic or Legacy generations.

I agree...let the Skywalker saga be done....move onto something else, please.

JJ Abrams would be my pick.

NO! Please...no Abrams, no Favereau, no Whedon. Someone else, please. Maybe step out of the usual pool of genre suspects for this...that was done to great success way back when with Kersh and ESB....

I imagine Lucas had some ideas jotted down about what he would have liked to see in 7-9... but that "backstory" has been navigated in so many sources (the expansive octopus know as the EU) that I doubt anyone alive can make heads or tails about what story would work without pissing on somebody's understanding....

As mentioned above...leave the Skywalkers behind...it is supposed to be a big galaxy, isn't it? And that issue of navigating the EU...forget it, that current Clone Wars cartoon already just does what it wants with no concern for other events in other EU sources (comics, books, etc)...there is no reason to expect whatever Diz comes up with to be any different.

Just no "re-imaginings...re-castings...re-boots" or other already tired conventions that pass for weak originality these days. Since they are doing it, FORWARD is the way to go...not back over what's been done.

You can bet whatever it is, it's more than well on it's way into production...wouldn't be supised if casting has been started (or even done). Whatever they are doing, it's going to be near-impossible to keep it completely under wraps...let the leaks begin!

Can't see that happening, they are looking forward not back. Movies 1 thru 6 are done.

LOL, Disney makes MILLIONS from "looking back", hence the "Disney Vault".

I'm betting the Original Unaltered Trilogy will be released from the "Disney Vault" right in time for the release of the new movie.

Unless, of course, Lucas has some kind of clause in the contract preventing them from doing this, which wouldn't at all surprise me. :monkey2

Don't hate on the man cause he knows his proper value -
