To Whom it May Concern,

Pursuant to Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 of the Constitution, the only information you are empowered to request is the total number of occupants at this address. My "name, sex, age, date of birth, race, ethnicity, telephone number, relationship and housing tenure" have absolutely nothing to do with apportioning direct taxes or determining the number of representatives in the House of Representatives. Therefore, neither Congress nor the Census Bureau have the constitutional authority to make that information request a component of the enumeration outlined in Article I, Section 2, Clause 3. In addition, I cannot be subject to a fine for basing my conduct on the Constitution because that document trumps laws passed by Congress.

Interstate Commerce Commission v. Brimson, 154 U.S. 447, 479 (May 26, 1894)

"Neither branch of the legislative department [House of Representatives or Senate], still less any merely administrative body [such as the Census Bureau], established by congress, possesses, or can be invested with, a general power of making inquiry into the private affairs of the citizen. Kilbourn v. Thompson, 103 U.S. 168, 190. We said in Boyd v. U.S., 116 U. S. 616, 630, 6 Sup. Ct. 524,―and it cannot be too often repeated,―that the principles that embody the essence of constitutional liberty and security forbid all invasions on the part of government and it's employees of the sanctity of a man's home and the privacies of his life. As said by Mr. Justice Field in Re Pacific Ry. Commission, 32 Fed. 241, 250, 'of all the rights of the citizen, few are of greater importance or more essential to his peace and happiness than the right of personal security, and that involves, not merely protection of his person from assault, but exemption of his private affairs, books, and papers from inspection and scrutiny of others. Without the enjoyment of this right, all others would lose half their value.'"

Note: This United States Supreme Court case has never been overturned.

Respectfully,

good luck fighting it :monkey3

haha.my mom is doing this tight now as we speak.she is doing it for a pat time job just for a month and she hates it and says when shes done she wont do it again.census is to figure out how many people live in a house and that way they can figure out the population.its really the only way.but ya she told me most people are A holes at the door.there simple fast questions and if you refuse to come to the door like a lot do she said you have to keep going back until you get the info.but l just told her for those people just make up how many people live there, the people she hands in the paper work to would never know.

Did you read this:

I looked it up:

If you refuse to give out the information or you deliberately give inaccurate information, you can be in legal trouble. According to United States Code, Title 13 (Census), Chapter 7 (Offenses and Penalties), SubChapter II, if you're over 18 and refuse to answer all or part of the Census, you can be fined up to $100. If you give false answers, you're subject to a fine of up to $500. If you offer suggestions or information with the "intent to cause inaccurate enumeration of population," you are subject to a fine of up to $1,000, up to a year in prison, or both.

So I think you should keep it up.... You can be our SSF Census refusal guinea pig.

So yeah, take the few minutes to just fill it out and fill it out accurately.

:rotfl:lol:rotfl:lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got mine some time back, filled it out and sent it in. I don't see what the big deal is. There are people on this message board that you all have never met that probably has more information on you than what they ask in that census!

I don't understand why people don't want to fill this thing out. I know a couple of people who have refused, and their justifications are so lame. It's not prying into your life or anything.

So, no offense, sir, but just fill it out accurately and be done with it.

I threw mine in the garbage. I looked at it and said I rather spend the 5mins to fill this out on something else.

Why not? The lady that came to more door didn't even say why she was there. :lol I knew why she was. But still. Why not question it? I don't always agree with the conspiracy people. However, this is one thing that just rubs me the wrong way. I signed my draft paperwork at 18 even though I enlisted, I pay my taxes, so that should be enough. They have all the information they need on me IMO. Christ when you are in the military you are given shots and aren't even told what they are for. They just inject you and off you go. I did my part and I'm done. I hate the way the government is run and my life is none of their business even though they have the power to make it theirs. So why make it easy? :lol FIGHT THE POWER SHEEP! :lol:lol:lol

Well honestly it's less about you and more about your county, state, and country as a whole. It's just about gathering the numbers for statistics regarding funding for government-run programs and such. So really, they don't have all the information they need - which is why we have the Census. I'm not always a big government type of person, either - especially during the Bush years - but participating in the Census just helps everyone out.

i've been hearing they are tazing people who don't fill the form out. saw a video of a guy in philly being chased down by the census police. seems the guy was trying to get away from them by running out into the middle of a base ball game but the cp were pretty persistent & got their man. im definitely gonna fill that form out............:gun

In the trash it went. And I live in a security building so no one's knocking on my door.

I don't believe that some states should be paying for other states, so I see no reason why they would expect me to help them figure out how to 'fairly' apportion Federal funds. If my state can't pay for itself, I don't see why anyone else should have to. If someone else's state can't pay for itself, I sure as hell don't see why I should. Just one more aspect of a system that is completely full of ____ (in theory and in practice) and which will not be getting one shred of my voluntary compliance.

I don't think it really matters one way or the other. Not doing it isn't going to change anything except make something that is skewed even more skewed. I can appreciate contributing to the chaos, but I can also understand if people don't want the hassle of dealing with their threats.

I really don't see what the big deal is in filling this out. It helps with the local and state budgets....figuring out population trends for public schools and other local and state services. It seriously takes around 5 minutes to fill out. :lol

Lol...tell me about it. Do you remember the malaria pills?? I remember them giving them to us while I was in Iraq, but if you read the bottle it says "Avoid direct sunlight while on this medication." Seriously??? We're in a freaking desert, where are we supposed to seek cover?? I can say I'm certain I'll never get Smallpox, Anthrax, Polio, the Flu, or any other sickness due to all the shots they'd give us.

I hear if you don't fill it out, Wikus Van Der Merwe comes and takes your family away to an internment camp.
