I wouldn't expect the specials to air until 2010.

Thats why I use an alternative service to watch it just a few hours after the Brits. ;)

Next special is airing easter. I'm guessing the Saturday of easter.

Its called: planet of the dead

the other 3 specials this year will most likely be all aired Christmas/new years

Dunno bout you guys but for me it will be airing Easter Sunday. :lol Marc I assume the same or will you try and track it down Saturday?

Whats fun is that since my main laptops screen is dead it's hooked up to the TV, sooo I may just watch it Easter Sunday at 7 :lol Just be 24 hours behind the UK. But.. I dont have the patience for that. Knowing me I'll probably watch it as soon as it's available to me.

Yeah I bought a monitor cable just for that purpose. Come Easter Sunday its Doctor Who on the 52 inch via my laptop. :rock

I got some info this morning. I havnt had any for a while. As usual, treat everything as nonsense untill time proves otherwise. The next Doctor stuff burned the hands.
Im told that Series 5 will have absolutly nothing from the RTD era. No companions, no Captain Jack.Nuffink.

However I am told we may see Sarah Jane and another face (or voice)from that era pop up, possibly in a recurring role. but def for Episode 1.

and thats all I can say for the moment. Iv asked a few reliable contacts to verify this to see if they hear similar, if so, it may be a goer.

But the Tardis will play a big part in the first episode, helping the Doctor with his regeneration......he really has to discover himself all over again.and yes its a def new Tardis...Im told it will take up most of Upper Boat when its finished, and twice to three times the size of the current one...

I asked about Tennents regeneration and the only thing I got back was that it is to be utterly heartbreaking.
Thats enough. I dont want to know any more.
Roll on my Xmas present

I dont really believe that, especially because of the Capt Jack thing. Why would Moffat NOT want to use a character he created?

I hope the one thing they discard from RTD's time is the Daleks.

I don't want to see them again until at least after Matt Smith's second series.

But I agree. I hope the no Jack stuff isn't right. But I do hope the TARDIS info is correct but I hope he gets changed while David is still the doc.

Well the TARDIS will be changed SOMEHOW because of the change to HD. The Daleks I can take or leave but from what I've heard they won't be in the first series. Lastly, I stand by that Jack will be there at the end. I know if I were a writer I'd like to play around with a character I created.

That should be interesting, almost like the TARDIS and The Doctor are both regenerating. Since the only regeneration of the new series that we've seen, has been the doctor absorbing part of the heart of the TARDIS, it would seem appropriate that that's how the new regenerating happens.

Discarding the majority of stuff or even everything from the RTD era would certainly get me intrigued about the new era,the show needs to move on which it can't do if it keeps referencing the previous era or bringing back characters like Captain Jack.

If the TARDIS regenerates as well maybe it'll actually be able to escape Earth's orbit a lot more because it has struggled to do so during RTD's run. More visits to alien worlds that aren't populated entirely by humans would immediately make the new era different from the previous one and in a positive way.
