I think it goes without saying the lynch-pin to an ALIENS collection of figures is the Alien itself, and the HT ALIEN from ALIENS was so plagued with quality control problems (and for something that was also an army builder it's twice as bad to have happen), does Hot Toys owe it to the fans to go back and make another stab at these guys to get it right after all the time and money we've invested in the line?

I have one blue ALIEN and he's held up well so far, but I'd want more and am scared after all the horror stories to even bother. :monkey2

People have talked about the first ALIENS Alien's innaccuracy, so this could be an opportunity to fix that.

What do you guys think? Do you want a better one or or you done with that particular version?

why not remake the entire line? as far as I can tell most of the aliens related figure have some sort of inaccuracy one way or another. Plus those old HS dont old up at all in HT's standard today. The only thing that doesn't need a V2.0 is probably the power loader IMHO.

I'd support a new one, as long as they can release some more Colonial marines to go along with :D

I have the Aliens blue version, but I'm scared to move him at all.

I want to be able to trade in my old blue Aliens Warrior for a brand new robust one. Otherwise I aint spending anymore money on new Aliens that I SHOULD have got the first time around.

Both of my Aliens Warriors' legs broke off and they had been standing in my display case untouched. Hot Toys has never responded to my repeated requests for replacement parts. I wanted the Dog Alien but I'm not buying anymore Alien figures from them period. The Giger Alien will probably "malfunction" in one way or another too.

My answer, Yes, IF and only IF they actually make it accurrate to the Giger-Cameron blend and don't use artistic liberties from the first one. I know of the production problems with the original, but that aside, it's the least film-accurrate Alien to date and they made snap kits that were dead on, making the dropped ball even more painful as an ALIENS fan.

Yes yes and yes!
HT needs to finally give us accurate aliens! And it would be a good thing if they didn't break either.

Hot Toys should first give us an accurate and robust alien from "Alien", the original flick. Then we can talk about re-do's.

Well this year is moment of truth for HT, the ALIEN is coming for the anniversary, they can either do a damn nice attempt at making an accurrate figure or drop the ball again. If they do indeed get their ALIEN figure right, then they really need to redo the ALIENS xenomorph, it'd be an injustice to have 1 figure in the line beyond innaccurrate. They'll have the base sculpt, a few mods to be in line with ALIENS vs ALIEN and the figure'd be set.

My guess is we'll see an inaccurate figure, but not a off as the Aliens version. More like the AvP and A3 figures which are a lot closer tot he original. Also, I believe it'll have the solid rubber body covering articulations like the dragon.

They basically won't do a fully accurate figure because it would (ironically) stand out like a sore thumb next to their other aliens.

OR they know you people will buy it anyway, so they don't have to go the extra mile for accuracy.

they have yet to sell a single alien to me. i have 4 from NECA.
take the hint, HT.

has any company actually gone back and remade an old figure :huh i just cant see it happening, but yay, i would buy one. too many horror stories are putting me off getting one, even though its my favourite design :dunno

Hasbro has remade most of their Star Wars characters several times.
McFarlane has remade Spawn figures countless times.
Medicom remade their alien.
pretty much every company i can think of has remade figures. HT is an exception.

EDIT: may just be that HT hasn't been around very long compared to other companies who have remade figures.

I agree FlyAndFight. I'm guessing HT will learn from their previous "mistakes." If the Dog-Alien holds up then I'm hoping the "Big Chap" will be even better. If I may say I wouldn't mind if Medi releasing their version of Cameron's Aliens' warrior..:peace

Damn... hadn't thought of that... could be interesting.

I think Hot Toys will release another Alien from the second movie. They know we'll buy it if they can work out the details and give us something that won't fall apart.
