Texting in cars is a serious public health hazard. I think the Po-lice should really crack down on that as reckless driving behavior and toss those idiots in jail.

Speaking of texting some woman crashed right into our parked cars last week. I was visiting my sister when all of a sudden we heard a loud crash. The woman was driving a huge Yukon XL and hit my brother-in-law's Silverado truck and then his truck went right into my car. This woman has her own insurance, but unfortunately the Yukon she was driving was her daughter's vehicle which is not insured at all.

that's sucks. glad it was just the car. i always assume this is the way i'm gonna die. i'm practically a full time vegetarian so i don't see a heart attack or cancer doing me in. so i know if i die young it's gonna be because of someone crashing into me cuz of a ******* cellphone. and man, i am gonna be pissed in the afterlife because of it.

A new law passed in Canada just this month, no talking on the phone or texting while driving,. If caught it is is $175 fine.

Well yea, thats kinda my thing. :lol

Thanks guys, if there is any poetic justice, its that the light had cameras so she can't weasle her way out of being at fault. I'm sure it was a totally stupid text as well as she didn't bother trying to defend herself by saying it was an emergency or anything. Oh and it was definately daddy's car, she was 18 and driving a mercedes.

Already been on the phone to my insurance and I can tell this is going to be excruciating.

I'm so sorry about your car. Glad you're o.........wait!

And I'm sure your back is hurting, and your neck. I bet you'll have a hard time sleeping too. And sex.....oh no! You can't have sex because you're too upset!

:D

You can't get a driver's license here without insurance.

:lol ... a QR code in a forum signature.. thats a first ...

anyway... how did they know she was texting? was she dumb enough to offer the info?

I change the QR code somewhat frequently too.

Her SMS usage would be in her call history. Perhaps the cops asked to see her phone.

I am so, so sorry to hear that. People who text and drive really piss me off. I honestly don't do it. I will text Jenn when I know she's driving home and ask where she is, but almost every time I remind her to only text me at a stop/red light. And I add the line..."don't be that girl." And I am the same way. I will put my phone on my lap until I am stopped to be able to respond.

People do not have this much restrain. Especially girls. They think "oh I can just do it it will be fine." Then what happens is what happened to you.

People suck.

Sorry to hear this and glad you are okay Deckard...my girlfriend's good friend was recently killed on her bike by a driver texting..harsher laws need to be stepped up for these _______s.
