So is everyone enjoying single player? That's really the only thing i'm interested in. Is it along the lines of the new Wolfenstein? In terms of having an actual story and cutscenes and whatnot.

Single player is freaking awesome. Just got up to hell level and the game feels so much like the old-school, ballsy Doom we know and love. Not much in the way of cut scenes and it doesn't have the same narrative tone as The New Order, which I thought was surprisingly well done for a game about shooting up Nazis.

From what I can tell there's no emphasis in the story at all, at the beginning, the robot dude is trying to give you some exposition and Doomguy just smashes the screen :lol

I hear that the difficulty is nice and that the highest difficulty is a ***** to beat, is it true? I love hard games.

On the highest difficulty if you die at any point you start the game over. It shows markers of where others died too.

Yeah I heard, only a handful of people have beat the game on U-nightmare.

I'm only interested in playing this on U-Violence, nightmare and U-nightmare.

How's U-violence and nightmare?

I'm playing my first time through hurt me plenty i think so don't know. :)

Love all the little things in it:

Fell in the molten metal in the Foundry level playing earlier today - Doomguy does the terminator thumbs up as he sinks beneath in the death animation :lol

Love this game!

There really isn't much to the story and as far as cut scenes go there isn't much to those either. Just you're typical wave after wave of baddies type of game.

I will give it an A+ for difficulty though on some of these waves later in the game. There have been a few times where they have gotten me pretty frustrated. Overall a fun game to play but nothing to run immediately to your local game store to buy.

There is actually lore present that one can enjoy if so inclined. I actually found myself really liking the lore; it's wonderfully hyperbolic and is primarily in relation to Doomguy.

Well, it's not much, but at least we have a confirmation they're making a Doomguy figure. I'm somewhat excited, as I like the new design quite a lot. However, I am rather worried we could end up with a situation similar to that of the Halo 4 ThreeA MC, especially considering Doomguy is an armored character as well (with bulkier armor with the potential to be much more restrictive in figure form than MC's armor).

In the first part of Noclip's dive into the development of DOOM, Danny speaks to the team at id Software about the history of the studio, the cancelled DOOM 4 project and how DOOM 2016 came to be.

In part two of Noclip's look into the development of DOOM (2016) Danny analyzes the design of the game's opening level, and talks to Hugo Martin & Marty Stratton about the origin of the game's self-aware tone.

In our third and final video looking into the development of DOOM (2016) Danny talks to the team about designing combat chess, and chats to Mick Gordon about writing the game's incredible soundtrack.

The single player was super fun, the MP was ok for a few hours but it got old pretty quick. Haven't had a look at the dlc - I see an 11 gig download sitting there on steam though.

You need to find the extras and read the weapon/character/enemy entries to dig down deeper into the story, I thought it was cool that you could just go balls to the wall and blast through or dig a little deeper if you wanted. Really enjoyed the melee kills & the set lock down scenarios, made you feel like an unstoppable beast when you came out the other side of some of those fights. :rock

Are you sure it was this game?

were there many of them in 2016? o_O
i tried this one:
