I'm not really talking about gameplay so much as game content. When I talk cinematic, I mean people that want a story/plot and experience that pulls them into the game rather than just carnage.

Again, you don't need to make the game look and play generic in order to have a cinematic experience, cause that's what it looks like so far.

Maybe it will have a great story, but people so far are commenting on looks and gameplay.

First of all, rude. That's what I was talking about, there is so much aggression in this thread it's insane. You don't see that in the star wars threads.

Second off, I don't have any set standards since I never got to play doom as a kid because my family was very anti violence. I've since played doom, and while I appreciate what it did for gaming, heck, we probably wouldn't have modern gaming if it weren't for doom, it doesn't have the same impact on me as it does for someone who grew up playing it.

I'm really excited for this doom, because right now I'm seriously fatigued with open world games like Witcher 3 (which is an amazing game) and MGSV and games like WoW and HOTS and TF2 that never truly end.

This looks like a really fun fps that will help relieve some stress at the end of the day by shooting some demons and is just plain fun. I ordered the collectors edition, because with Amazon prime I get 20% off, so I get the game and a project triforce statue for 100$, which is alright by me

You don't have to have played the previous DOOM games to realize this one looks like garden variety generic FPS.

Yeesh, I thought us star wars fans complained about everything and were never satisfied, that was, until I found this thread

Like people didn't have very good reasons to not be excited about this game.

Gaspar is kind of right, nothing is truly mind blowing here. It's not awful, but I don't see myself getting that excited.

Star Wars fans are also far worse, and NOT just on this forum.

All valid points. As long as it runs smooth and is fun, and lOnger than a few hours. The fact that it's not multiplayer only for 60$ puts it at the top of my list, plus the developers seem open about what's going on (to the best of my knowledge) so we won't get another colonial marines or Battlefront, which was the biggest disappointment of the decade, so much so that a star wars fan as big as me didn't even buy it.

I can see how hardcore doom fans like you guys can be dissapointed, but for me, it's the only non Nintendo or blizzard game that I personally think it's worth my money

Holy crap do I actually like what I'm seeing? Both look pretty slick, even the new designs look good with all that color.

I want to go option B because it's very reminiscent of the classic, but option A is so nice and simple.

Actually this might be the best. I still have a decent amount of faith but this is probably far from anyone's GOTY

I have a weird family including numerous weird uncles yes. But you know what...go embrace Solidus, he really needs hugs lately tell him I sent you.

I have no doubt that the final game will be different at least.

would it cost them alot to have both option A & B each on both sides of the cover so if you want option B just take out the cover, flip it and slip it back to the case?

i believe some Japanese Games have done it long time ago.

Which ever is chosen is going on the reverse side of the cover. Thus God awful garbage is the standard cover with one of the above going on the backside.


In reality the two being voted on should be the only options but Bethesda thinks DOOM needs another reason to be stupid.

It's the same as Bioshock Infinite - they need a generic cover to sell copies, so it's nice that we get a "real" cover on the flip side.

Are there people left on the planet that don't know what DOOM is? And the original games box art is crazy famous. This garbage standard boxart is not really needed. Especially with a large amount of sales going to the PC and digital console sales. I would like to see the percentage of sales increase that justifies having boxart almost identical to whatever it's sitting next to at Gamestop.
