Purchased this off evilbay and the listing stated statue was mint condition. Received it and notice these black marks on the foot and a line on the forearm. The collectors with doom can you verify and let me know if you guys have those markings as well?

This is his email to me "Hi, Don't worry. I noticed the apparent flaws. Then it was explained to me that painters added the illusion of wear hear and there - deliberate flaws to make it more believable. I looked closely, and sure enough, those black area are dry-brushed on - rather than any paint removed."

I've never owned one, but those don't look "airbrushed" on to me. Could be wrong though.

It doesn't look like intentional detailing to me either. I think it's paint damage. But since I've never had the pleasure of viewing this statue in real life, I can't be sure.

Yikes. That statue is definitely not mint. My Doom doesn't have those markings.

My Doom does not have those markings either. They are not airbrushed on, but look like chips and scratches. Did you get the EX? IMO, $1050 for the EX is still a good deal with those markings, but not the regular.

it was for the regular. doom prices have sky rocketed recently. so for the price i got it for i believe it was decent. ex version are going for 2k while non ex are going for around 1500.

Just my opinion: they definitely don't look like part of the design. But for the price you got it for, I would just keep it. I don't know about in-hand, but they don't look too bad to me in the pics.

Definitely not factory. And considering the over-inflated price you paid for it ...not a good purchase.
With the economy still on the skids, look for more collectors letting go of their prized pieces.
$500 is too much to pay for a resin & fabric statue of ANY kind.

agreed. but with the decline of these statues hitting the market i dont want to waste my time searching for it. once i saw it at a decent price i just grabbed it.

Personally, I would ask for $200.

i know it would bug you to hell =P. i have gotten to the point of collecting or anything in life that nothing is perfect =). so its not a huge deal but if i could get some money back for it that would be great. im doing well. life is the same old nothing new =) you coming to the con?

No, SDCC for me this year. I wanted to go, but just not my year I guess. I'll be at DragonCon though, but that's on the EastCoast.
