I definitely understand that. (I'm not the most sane of collectors....I realized this long ago. :lol)

No, SDCC for me this year. I wanted to go, but just not my year I guess. I'll be at DragonCon though, but that's on the EastCoast.

never heard of DragonCon. any good?

There are some slick, dishonest people on Ebay. I know because i bought a HT Hellboy head that was supposed to be brand new but had scratches on both ears. So i wrote the seller about the head sculpt and he claimed he didnt notice it...hell nah i dont want to hear that. Any real collector notices imperfections with their collectible as soon as they exam it. After that experience i understood why people called ebay "evilbay"....

I think for the most part any statue bought so long after release will have a couple of minor issues. Just the fact that it was shipped and then shipped again could cause some minor damage. Not to mention the displaying, packaging etc of the statue. So long as it doesnt have broken parts or major damage I wouldn't worry about it too much. Maybe you will luck out and he will give you some $$ back in return.

For the most part I am less strict on my "used" statues then I am on the ones directly from SS. If its new from the factory it should be close to flawless, although this is a rarity these days.

you got that right. were you able to get any sort of refund through paypal or an open dispute?

yeah, which is a sad sight. =( ss needs to step their game. i just received two bucky's and had it side by side and the quality is just super off.

yep, mine doesn't have that either. you paid a decent price for a couple of minor flaws.
it's a hard choice to make. try for a reasonable refund of around $200 and if you feel it'll bother you even with the refund then just return it.

don't forget though you should be able to get it touched up properly for a small amount of cash, and if you don't want to try and find another one, that may or may not be in better condition than the one you have now then keep it and fix it with the money you hopefully get back.

sounds good, thanks for the info. Do you think $200 is too much? if i ask for that seller might just want it back. Maybe hes lurking right now =P

Not really, when I brought the hulk pf, there was only a little dot of the paint flaw, it's small flaw on the back of his arm, so he refund me $100, with that much flaw on yours, it should be a easy call, and plus it's on eBay, he said it's in mint condition, so he lie and he know, and tell him the negative feed back will be left if the solution is not what you want .

hehe, i will try my best. If i dont get a response back tomorrow ill file one through paypal.

Return it. If I paid over a grand for a statue, I wouldn't accept one with those flaws. It would bug the crap out of me.

i had doom pf and it hadnt any flaws like this.sorry.imo ask a good refund cause if you ever want to sell him it wont hit the 1000 dollars with those flaws.

Thanks for the feed back. Emailed him and just waiting for a response. If nothing i will have to escalate this through paypal. ill keep you guys posted. i guess $200 seems like the right price like everyone has been stating.

That's how I would do it, my friend. :lecture

I think you're going about it the right way. Hope it works out for you.

good luck!doom is a great statue!!but i think the greatest thing is to be honest!!best wishes!

Purchased this off evilbay and the listing stated statue was mint condition. Received it and notice these black marks on the foot and a line on the forearm. The collectors with doom can you verify and let me know if you guys have those markings as well?

This is his email to me "Hi, Don't worry. I noticed the apparent flaws. Then it was explained to me that painters added the illusion of wear hear and there - deliberate flaws to make it more believable. I looked closely, and sure enough, those black area are dry-brushed on - rather than any paint removed."

Let me know what you guys think. Thank you

those definitely should not be there. he is lying to you, or he's dumb enough to think painters put that there. if l were you l would ask him for a partial refund of a couple hundred or something. if he refuses which he will because l think he lied to you, you should make a claim with paypal and say you want a partial refund, and i'm sure they will do that for you after going back and forth enough.

I'll be at Dragon*Con this year as I live in Atlanta, so if you feel like meeting and have a fellow Freaks members show you around the con, I can be your man. :wave
