Congrats James :hi5: Did you order from SSC? The Doom LSF is on my hit list but wont be pulling the trigger just yet...no rush on this piece and i just cant afford a $400 hit with so many pieces arriving in thenext month or two...

Yes I ordered SS direct. I sold a bunch of Bowen stuff recently and the money was burning a hold in my pocket. Mine as well get a chunk out of the purchase now while the money is there . Thinking clearly now though I probably could have waited. No rush as this will be available for quite some time but then again you never know with SS

You were expecting real metal?
That was never going to happen.

The armors are more like silvery n gun metal finish.

Chrome is real tricky paint application and harder to do. If sideshow decides to go chrome it will be too bright and risking more flaws.

Meh, I wouldn't worry too much about when you pull the trigger. It's not like SS is going to lower their price, and if you have some dough to spare now, then pull the trigger.

Well as long as SS can pull off the look and finish like the proto, all is well. But please don't make it from same material as Rhino.

So at 50in this weighs the same as the pf?

Shows Sideshow does not give a crap about all of the complaints about eggshell thin statues. Is this Doom the undisputed eggshell champion when it comes to statues?

Labour aside, I would estimate their is only $100-$200 of material used to make these statues. I don't believe the light weight aspect of these statues has anything to do with saving the customer shipping costs. As shipping costs hinge more on volumetric weight, not physical weight. You can see this for yourself by going to any currier website and plugging in dimensions of any package. You'll notice if you change the weight entered and keep the dimensions the same the shipping cost is the same. Adding another 15-20lbs per statue will not cost SS anymore or less than what they would be charged now. The reason for the lightweight on doom and other pieces is cost cutting to save SS money and increase their margins. Nothing else.

Does anyone ever put the cost of these extra large molds into consideration when thinking about how much these cost to produce per piece?

Yeah this is dead on. I think up to 80lbs with ups. Weight doesn't shift the price much. The size of the box has a bigger impact on the cost. I've read a lot of your posts going back and forth with other members and I think your misunderstood. Your gripe is with SS increasing profit margins at every corner they can. Less quality, higher prices, the unnumbered ES is just one of the extra revenue driving strategies they have come up with. I get where your coming from Chris. Still buying Doom but I understand your points and to a large extent agree with them . They just won't get me my LSF doom

I completely agree.

I am sure most collectors won't mind paying the increase in price, if and only if the quality should remain the same, or else even better.

piece looks great, to big for me to collect this line and I highly doubt the quality will be there once its shipped to the consumer.

why do you think that? Wolverine turned out good. The paint app doesn't look too complex except maybe the burned face.

:exactly: yea i agree with you. I cant see how Sideshow can take shortcuts with this figure...possibly the detail in the fabric maybe but in terms of the armour - i think the detail of the armour design is what sets this figure apart from other Doom releases whether it be Bowen or Sideshow, etc...infact i think you'll find the new Doom PF from Sideshow may include detailing in the armour similiar to that of the LSF as oppossed to the orogonal PF...

I think the only areas where this piece could be let down is with the fabric as earlier mentioned and possibly the detailing in the base. I think the headsculpt and 2 faceplates will be epic wins! :yess:
