People are angry the statue doesn't weigh enough?
lulz I love this site.

Also, I am a comic reader but haven't kept up to date with Fantastic Four for years.

Wasn't Doom's disfigurement meant to be only a slight scar? And him being so vain, he hid this behind the mask?

The unmasked look here looks lilt he Toxic Avenger!

I am more concern that it might feel like a giant HT plastic version in chrome finish. Hopefully I am wrong.

Yeah I think you're right about that

It keeps changing. Depending on the version he A) has a perfectly normal face, B) Has a mostly normal face but with one minor scar or C) has horrible burn scars all over his face.

Byrne also gave further detail regarding Doom's scarring; Byrne used the idea that the accident at Empire State University only left Doom with a small scar that was exaggerated into a more disfiguring accident by Doom's own arrogance; when Doom puts on the armor forged for him when it had yet to cool, however, he truly damages his face. 1980-1990's

That's the origin I always associate with him, regarding the facial damage.

This has always been my understanding. It serves to illustrate his arrogance which far exceeds his intelligence.

I think Batman, Lex Luthor, Tony Stark, Reed Richards, etc. when I think smart/clever comic book characters. I think arrogance and Dr. Doom is the personification of it more than any other of his qualities. On the other hand and to his advantage, I think Doom's armor by definition has to be "better" than Iron Man's because Doom dables in magic.

In the Books of Doom (which are more modern, 2002 or so) his face is scarred by the contact with the demon who helds prisoner Doom's mother soul.
The machine he built should have protected him by the demon but a malfunctioning causes the defense to be weaker than expected. Doom later convinces himself that Reed was behind a sabotage of the machine and the cause of his disfigured face.

i just have a friend who pre ordered 5. for god sakes, not sure if he will ever sell them all.

he is selling for profit i guess. he doesn't order from sideshow website, he just orders from the chinese supplier.

After I put in my flexpay order for this statue, I decided it was all I need. lol. Time to sell off the rest of my vast collection of Hot Toys, Sideshow Toys, & Comic Con toys. My life is now completed. lol.
