For $30 figures they're fantastic. The aliens are more successful - the Doctor's paintjob is really toylike. But the sculpt on the Joodon is fantastic and the costume is damned fine. There's more plastic in it than I would like - parts you think should be cloth or pleather are sculpted plastic - but when you're looking at him it's not that noticeable.

I'll have to dig him out, I was going by memory. But I believe it's about as good as an old Hasbro SW figure or Joe. No double jointed elbows or knees, but a lot more posable than the 5" Who figures.

It's strange that you would post this today, after a personal long absence of new 1:6 Doctor Who figures, I finally got a new one today, Novice Hame.
I looked and couldn't find any detailed photos of her on the net so I was surprised to see just how fantastic this one turned out. The sculpt on the head is absolutely amazing, they couldn't have sculpted the fur on this one any better. I'll try and take some pics for those that are curious later on in the week. Novice Hame has become my new favorite.
Judoon Captain, Martha Jones, and the Clockwork man are next, although if I can find a 1:6 Doctor in a suit cheap I'll pick him up first before any others, they've become hard to find lately.

The Clockwork is one of the coolest 1/6th figures, no matter the price. I think I paid about $50 for it since it was an exclusive of some sort, but it's easily my favorite 1/6 Who.

I wanted to get one of the 12" doctor's for my six year old after his surgery, but I couldn't find one. :(
I would love to get all of the others [and several of the Cybermen, Daleks, and Judoons]
Martha is one of the best female figures and quite the pleasant surprise from a (no offense) "non-major" company. Now if there were only a 9th Doctor and a Rose....:monkey2

whona.com still has the 12" Doctor in his spacesuit, but not the regular version.
www.mikescomics.com says they have regular version in stock, but I've never ordered from them so I can't recommend one way or the other.

The quality on all of these figures is pretty great I think. The Judoon is an impressive figure on the shelf. And the Dalek Sec hybrid is worth the cost just for the 1930's gangster suit alone.

BTW if you have the Doctor and want to give him his brown overcoat, look on ebay or at war-toys.com for the "John Colman" trenchcoat (sometimes gets spelled "Coleman"). With a little tweaking it's a dead ringer.

(And if you're into smaller scale stuff, the Tardis playset is probably one of the coolest hunks of plastic I've ever bought.)

The Doctor and some friends:

Ive seen all the 12 inch Who figure reduced in alot of diifirent shops, i'll be surprised if the line continues.

Based on the info I've seen there's possibly 2 more figures on the way,
Astrid
Sontaran (new look from series 4)
I don't know if either was shown at the UK Toy Fair as those let into the room with all the new figures had to sign non disclosure agreements which prevented anybody from taking any pics or even talking about them on websites.
Jiminydog,
Where'd you get the glasses for your 12" Doctor from?

found the glasses at war-toys. to be honest they don't look all that good in person, they're too large. I'm working on a replacement.

OK thanks for the info. Post a pic when you've got the replacement as I'd be intrested to see it. I got the Judoon & Human Hybrid Dalek Sec yesterday and think they're both great, the Judoon is my favorite of the Character Options 12" figures so far and very well done considering it's a mass market piece.

I've picked up quite a few from this line but only when on discount, I've managed not to pay over a tenner yet for any, but sadly the Judoon hasn't come down that far.

The ones I have are-
The Doctor-suit
The Doctor-space suit
Martha
Cyber Controler
Cyber Leader
Cyber (gun arm)
Cyber (no gun)
Dalek Bronze normal (RC)
Clock-work man

I just realised I told a lie, I got the RC Dalek as a present but happen know it cost £19.99 from Tesco (UK Supermarket)

I have to say, for what is essentially a pretty cheap range of figures aimed squarely at kids they are fantastic.

I've managed to fight my way through the Friday afternoon traffic I got to TRU and found they had a "buy 2 get 1 half price" offer on all Doctor Who items and due to the lack of 5" figs that I didn't already have I got the following,

12" Cyber Controller
12" Doctor in suit
12" Martha Jones

All are pretty good though I'm going to see if I can get someone to repaint the heads on the 2 human figures for me as I think they'll look much better.

where do you live that these are showing up at TRU? I've never seen them there.

On a related note, is there anyone on this board in the UK who can help me snag a 9th Doctor/Slitheen walkie talkie set at a reasonable/cheap price? I think it's probably the closest we will get to 1/6 figs of either of them, and I've read elsewhere that the 9th Doctor head makes for a good custom fig.

I'm in the UK and they are all in fairly plentiful supply. The Cyber Controller is a TRU exclusive and has just been reduced from £16.99 to £6.99 and as Wookster says the others have all been reduced by some amount or other from their original price. I've not seen the Walkie Talkies since their original release but they show up on ebay for pretty cheap prices sometimes, the cheapest one I've seen was something like £7.99 plus £5 postage.
If you want to see how good that headsculpt from the walkie talkie can look check out the website of Figuremaster Les. He's made a 9th Doctor figure using that head and it's amazing.

Both BCM and I are UK bassed. I actually saw a set loose in a charity (thrift) shop earlier this week, I'll try to get back there next week if you're interested. I seem to remember they were 'played with' but far from wrecked, would you still be interested, Im sure they were under £3 ($6)?
I have to admit I have no idea how much shipping would be.

Wookster that would be fan-tas-tic!

We can sort out the postage, you can ship it by the slowest slow boat, cheapest method possible, but if the figs only cost $6 I'll come out ahead in any case.

(Man, I'm so old, I remember when the pound was 1.4 to the dollar, or thereabouts. It's been awhile since I've been to the UK...)
