No I did the same thing w a dremel bit . Def do it outside .
It only took me about 2 minutes . Just used a smaller grinding/sanding bit, and carefully hollowed it out.
Maybe theres a dremel tutorial somewhere on the boards hmm..

I am trying to work out a system to have them hollowed out in the casting but for now , like w alot of other heads on the board...its dremel o'clock :whip

I received mine today. Currently drilling a neck hole. I'll get started painting soon. Now I just need the second body or the neck post I ordered to come in.

Since everyone is asking for pics. I started on the eyes, probably won't finish most of the painting till this weekend. The head isn't connected to a neck post so it's falling down further than it should.

There was an attempted delivery on mine today when I wasn't at home. :( I'll definitely get it tomorrow and I'm sure I'll start painting as soon as I get home and cue up some 3rd Doctor episodes to have on in the background while I work.

Got mine yesterday, great job on the sculpt! I drilled and sanded down the neck and I plan on painting him this weekend. On the neck hole I used a 1/2 paddle drill bit, drill straight up the middle then angle the bit and slowly make the hole fit a Dragon body neck stump.

I havent recieved mine yet but im just wondering how to paint the hair?. The other Pertwee head i have from a different sculpter i painted the hair a light grey then i dry brushed it white. What would you guys do?

I like the way CO did the small Pertwee fig with white hair along with dry brush strokes of grey.

Well, I was going to send mine to small_studios for paint, but I got brave and started painting it myself last night. For the hair, I'm going for this look, dark gray with light gray drybrushing on the top and back, fading into lighter gray with white drybrushing on the sides.

What I have so far, I'm going for the brownish grey hair look, so the hair still needs to be painted. I managed to break one of my sonic screwdrivers, so I'm going to have to order another later. I'm working on repainting one of the other ones now.(Glad I got more than 1) It's coming fast I should have pictures of the final head paint tomorrow. If the parts I ordered come in I'll have a finished picture by this weekend.

Yay! Success with both post office and paint brushes. Please excuse the outfit, I threw it together from random stuff in my loose clothes boxes.

I need to fix up the outfit and paint the hands and maybe detail the sonic screwdriver a little more, but on the whole I am very pleased. Thanks Russ for the two sculpts!
