Yeah, at the very least the dragon panzer cop is priced right. The takara, though pricier, is worth every penny.

Thats what Im saying. I want a Takara but always keep looking for a deal and well...my cheap ass hasnt found it yet. I'll probably pick up one eventually though. I thought about kit bashing and making up my own version of the kerberos armor.

The reflective finish is not as smooth or "glass-like" as I would like it to be. I think that is the key. I can see micro-scratches on the surface which I find distracting. I've purchased some very thin chrome metal sheeting used for embossing art projects, with the plan of refinishing the visor. I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. (can be found at Michael's art supply.) I think it will greatly enhance the look of the visor.

I just took the following photos and noticed that in my normal room lighting, which is from track lights, the chrome doesn't look bad. but in bright light, it just looks "plasticy", for lack of a better word. I'm sure most don't have a problem with it, but I'm probably just too picky.

Yep, you're a perfectionist alright! I don't know much about the production process, but I imagine achieving a flawless chrome finish would have to be a custom job. I think I'll be able to live with it, but it's good to know there's a way to have it better done if it starts to bother me :)

Here you go (the decal set was purchased separately):

Thank you for posting that, it looks like a great set. Do you have any idea where I might find one for sale outside of ebay?

The boots do have the treads. I haven't checked for accuracy, though. The vacuum-formed base had the foot prints marked on the gray moon dust, but it was so cheap and flimsy, that personally, I didn't like it and detracted from the display of the figure. I highly recommend a nice wooden base with the moon's surface recreated via Celuclay or another medium of choice.

Good to hear, I guess I will go the custom base route. It looked okay in pics, but I did not realize it was a flimsy vac overlay. Again, thanks for the information.

I think I know what you mean and I know why the plating they used looks off to me, too. It is the color. The real suits had visors with plating that had a slight copper tinge to it, not the stark yellow "gold" that Dragon used. Still, probably one of those things that we'll have to live with.

I have the patches and they are a quality product. Looking forward to the re-release and some parted out versions for a new skull cap (the one I have has turned pink).

:duff Yeah, I know, but Aviation and Space related items are a passion of mine. I'm an air and space nut. :wave

I honestly don't know where it could be found, outside of ebay. That may be your only recourse, my friend.

VERY flimsy. That was what turned me off. It's made to give the impression of a black base with the moon surface on it, but it's not stable enough. The flag was impossible to keep upright as well.

Good point. I hadn't thought of the color discrepancy. That's probably another factor, alright.

I had the "Buck" figure out on display for a couple of years before I opened up the "Aldrin" figure to display along side it. Upon doing so, I immediately noticed that Buck's suit had yellowed somewhat compared to Aldrin's, which was perfectly white. The yellowing was very, very slight and thus not noticeable until put next to the other figure. But it's really not bothersome enough for me to try anything risky like bleaching it. (skull caps are fine, though.)

I read about the yellowing in another thread some time back - not sure if it was this board. Someone commented that they saw the real deal in a NASA museum or the like and said that was yellowing too. Some consolation for collectors maybe :)

Bump for pics:

Price is ridiculously high. And personally, I don't see Armstrong in that sculpt at all.

I currently have my Armstrong and Buzz on display, with an extra Buzz waiting for the Apollo 14 "Alan B. Shepard" update set to be done.

I'm hoping that this will be the first of Dragon's possible "astronauts" line! My dream is get quality Mercury, Gemini and Space Shuttle suits, along with a possible cosmonaut suit as well. Imagine a Space Shuttle EVA suit as well...

I wouldn't get your hopes up... looks like the are just wanting to reuse the pre-existing figure while they can. I would not expect any future innovation or variation.

Available from Justice Fighters for 128.96 USD for pre-order. It is going to be less expensive from the stores that specialize in military figures. War Toys and Monkey Depot will have this up for pre-order shortly I'm sure.
Figure looks great and doesn't require too much improvement from the first two releases in my opinion to be well worth 130 bucks.

I got the newsletter from Justice as well. Took another look at the pics and besides the headsculpt, there doesn't appear to be any "updated" parts that I can tell.

For anyone wanting one and not having the originals, it's a no-brainer as a must-get. But for those already having either the original or the subsequent Buzz figs, this one appears to bring nothing new to the table.

But I do expect to see some great looking custom figures utilizing this new figure. Looking forward to them.

Thanks for the heads up! May still be cheaper for me from BBTS with the POL feature, but I'll check these stores out for sure :)

Yeh, absolute no brainer for me as I missed out on the earlier releases. Disappointing for you and others who have the originals, especially as the HS isn't mind blowing. I'm not the aviation nut you are, so I'm really happy I can finally have one astronaut in my collection :)

Always been after these, missed Buzz & Buck many years back as I just picked up ww2 only. Will pick one up, my only wish they include moon base like one Buck came with
