That's just a teaser for now.

Many more pics will come. :)

Re: 1/6 scale Astronaut?

Yes, they charge shipping. It would have been $151 for me. Still not bad, but better to go with Flying Mule.

Re: 1/6 scale Astronaut?

Not futzed well enough for close scrutiny yet, but here's how I have him displayed at the moment:

I think I'll pretty much stick with the basic pose idea, but once I get him futzed to perfection I'll do another showcase.

Really love this figure. :)

Re: 1/6 scale Astronaut?

I don't know if it's "accurate" to have the visor up with the camera on, but the head-sculpt is so good and the fabric cap is so cool, I just want them visible.

The visor was to keep them from being blinded by the sun?

Did they have the visors up while moon-walking at all?

Camera on, visor up! :yess:

"I could see that Armstrong had raised his outer visor, the gold visor that normally obscures an astronaut's face from view, and that was something that always stayed with me as something that was very cool," said Chaikin. "So, when I got into 'Voices from the Moon' and I wanted to make use of the best mission photography that I could get my hands on, one of the prime things I wanted to put in the book was a high definition scan of [that scene] with Neil Armstrong standing on the Moon."

He looks great man! :rock

I might go for a "raising the visor" pose to get the best of both options. I'm really excited to get this figure, more than all the cool stuff I've got on PO at the moment.

Re: 1/6 scale Astronaut?

Interesting.

And not that I need another book on the Apollo missions, but Barnes & Noble have this for only $6.28.

Ooh! I may have to buy that! :rock

Thanks!

He was a very pleasant surprise! And it's making the wait for all the PO'd stuff much easier! :hi5:

Re: 1/6 scale Astronaut?

Yeh, super excited to get mine. It's sitting in my POL at BBTS and I'm waiting on Cap to arrive before pressing the button to make it worth my while re: shipping.

...waiting is a bugger though - now I'm wondering whether to pick up another one.

Mine just arrived a little while ago. :yess:

Big props to Flying Mule for the safe packaging.
