Back From Japan.... and totally depressed :monkey2

dsc1947f.jpg

Why depressed my friend? Stuff looks pretty cool from the photo.

Cause I love Japan so much and I'm sad to be back, bittersweet.

Broke again? I see some Sweet Stuff, NOW OPEN THEM! Drakul

Always tethering on broke till I find a job sadly but I wasn't going to waste this one!
I'll open Monday when the wife leaves the house :)

Oh got it. Maybe you should buy a property there so you can go often and stay as long as you want.

Unlike the USA, you can not own property in Japan unless you are a Japanese citizen. If your spouse is a Japanese citizen, they can own the property.

That is strange. Usually you can buy property as long as you are paying for it. But maybe I am under wrong impression. I guess then Drakul will need a second wife who is Japanese. :wink1:

Trust me. I lived in Japan for 3 years. Another relatively unknown fact, is around US military bases, some restaurants have signs up that say "No USA."

Oh, if you get into a car accident there, you, the foreigner, are at fault. Doesn't matter what happened. Their logic, if you were not there the accident would not have happened.

:goodpost: gotta love Japan and their thinking.
I do support the "NO USA" stuff near the bases. I assume that is most likely in Okinawa, since there has been tons of movements against the Marines and AF bases in the area. Reports of abuse and rapes by the US military of Japanese women, robbery, assault and even airplanes crashing in to schools LOL like military airplanes.

Wow that sounds extremely strange. Wonder when people will start treating each other as human beings and not what nationality or country you belong to. Guess only in 'Neverland'.

I am in Okinawa right now and have never seen a "no USA" sign before and Japanese law dictates that all persons involved in a accident are somewhat at fault due to the fact you have a driver's license and are considered a "professional driver". As for the crime it is like anywhere in the world, and there have been no planes that have crashed into schools.

Also good luck getting a credit card as a Gaijin. But I still love the place.

Misawa AFB, Japan. My EX got into a car accident there. Also, if you think "No USA" is bad, you should see the "No whites, blacks." signs. This was during the 1987-1990 timeframe if that makes a difference.

Also, love the fact that you have to pay an "exit fee" when leaving the country. What a money maker that is.

Ahhh ok, yea I have heard mainland is a little rougher. :lol

Gaijin saite as we say.

what's that exit fee you're talking about?

Exit fee = airport tax. I call it the exit fee. It's when you fly out of Japan, you have to pay an airport tax. It is a free way for them to get money. My son was 4 months old and I had to pay for him as well. Each person (as far as I know, non-Japanese citizen) has to pay it.

Can you imagine if the USA did this? There would be such an uproar. However, maybe a way to get the US out of debt?

Is that just for people with a Visa? Cause I didn't pay a dime on the way out.

Howdy!!

I haven't posted a pic in a while cause I didn't really get anything aside from the stuff from Japan but I'm not sure when I'll get to that.
I do however have one coming this week that I grabbed during Spook so you'll see that (I'm very excited!).

The main reason for this post though is I just came back from Paris where I visited family and I went to a couple of stores that had some PFs and others. Now you need to remember that even though I've been collecting for ~15 years I only discovered SSC recently and mostly got into PFs recently because of Jessica and Joker.
I have a few others POed but as I was window watching I saw Vultron, Hulk Comi, Turkin, Skaar, Headless Horseman.... and I just thought to myself "those statues are freaking huge!" and I'm not really sure it's my kind of size that I'm comfortable with.
I much prefer 1:6 and 1:5 for the space and have but my problem is SSC focuses on PFs and there's so many PFs that aren't available in smaller scale fully sculpted....

So yeah... ramblings and life decisions :)
