Although it's not entirely necessary to have one, I would buy a Walter if Rainman produced him. I don't feel quite the same for Donnie, but I could see Walter on my shelf. I doubt Rainman would be able to move 30 of him though - probably just the usual 20 or maybe lower that number to 15. But, to be fair, I'm such a huge fan that if Rainman made a Donnie or even Jesus, I'd end up buying 'em. So my opinion is skewed because I'm too big a fan.

The company that has the figure license now had plans for a 1/6 Dude and Walter, and showed them at trade shows in 2007. The prototypes needed much improvement, but the accessories they chose were great. Below are the pictures of those prototypes - the figures, of course, never saw the light of day. I guess they felt there wasn't as big a market for 1/6 and produced those ugly deformed [8" ?] Urban Achiever figures instead.

I have a copy of Withnails coat made by the costume designer who worked on the movie, it's even made in the very same rare Harris tweed fabric! I wear it in the cold months!
Withnail and Lebowski are my top two all time fave films. I can watch them over and over and always enjoy them.
They are both so well written and have a charm and magic to them that's hard to put down on words or capture on film, real bottled lightening!
I would LOVE a 1/6 Withnail!
