The AOTC duel was a fan dis-service.
Just got this bad boy - it was this diorama that made me go back and buy the other 2 and I have to say it's the best of the 3. I haven't looked at the credits, but I'd guess it's Trevor's work - the likenesses are fantastic. Very dynamic too. I'll try to get some pics over the weekend.
Sand is running through the hourglass Dave; the weekend's almost over--- pics please?
The thing for me with the AOTC Dio is the emotion comes from watching Yoda go at it. That to me made the purchase worth it.

The "emotion" in the Dooku-Yoda duel is simply a treat for the fans. It did not carry any emotional weight regarding Dooku's betrayal. It doesn't stand the test of time in comparison with the other duels. Just my opinion...
#23 of 100 made the purchase worth it for me.
And I can't wait for your pics Maulfan in three days-- I'll have to live vicariously through them until mine gets shipped.

What they should have gone for, is to have Dooku mess with Obi-Wan's head with respect to Qui-Gon...Dooku did that when he had Obi captive, but it wasn't used in the duel. That would've kicked up the emotional impact 100x.

Totally agree, it was about "wow look at Yoda!" There just wasn't any relationship between Dooku and any of the 3 Jedi really, and you only learn of Yoda's relationship at the end of the duel, might have added something if the Padawan part was established before sabers crossed. That lack of relationship carried over into ROTS, I still didn't feel like there was anything going on other than a stepping stone duel to clear out one apprentice for Anakin to rise.
Some of the emotion for me comes from reading the novels and other items that do give the back story. Plus as I said its a cool moment and nice to have it captured in polystone. So for me it was worth getting for that alone but I understand that some people do need a complete back story/very emotional background for their pieces.
