They don't have a problem with english on Facebook. So how do they come up with that excuse?

I suppose photos are no longer able to prove things now are they? thats how it feels with Hot Toys the way they are dealing with all this.

It feels like no matter what you do/me/us are made out to be liars. Or pirates.

The problem is, as they handle these replacements directly with people and not dealers, they're probably just logging, John Smith, replaced, not saving the receipt or anything, so when you go back to ask for another one, they just think you're sending the same receipt or whatever. It's screwed up. They make a nice product, but structurally, Hot Toys doesn't seem to have it together.

Yeah. I have to admit we are ripping them off by paying hundreds for these toys and just simply expect to have a quality product in hand. Sad thing is it's not just HT thinking that but other collectors think the same way.
Then again I suspect HT CS is being bombarded by a lot ppl requesting replacements including exactly those collectors as well

That's sarcasm for those who might blow it out of proportion.

Why even have the info available on their customer service page then? why even make it available if your intention is to brush them off.

Well, just wanted to update my situation in relation to the residue thingy.

I took out the makeup sponge from under its belly last weekend, and I'm happy to report that the oil is almost completely gone, after +2 months of daily sponge-absorption. Hopefully my problem is resolved.

It's all about "appearance." So long as it's there, they have plausible deniability.

Looks good on paper. :/

It's the biceps I'm having the biggest problem with mine on both figures. My abs stopped sometime ago but sadly one day a week or two ago I took it out to look at it after leaving it in the box, the oil done this to mine that others have already seen. :/

The oil blistered the decal. Even when dried it's not as bad as that picture but bad enough to see bumps on it and it's still noticeable.

That bicep plate glistens up badly daily. It's varnished like by the night and this figure(s) are 3 months old now and still oozing oil. The sad thing was this was the good figure that has now turned into the bad one.

I wish I had put kitchen roll in behind those plates from the beginning like I had done with the other figure. :(

Still no word back from Hot Toys though about replacements. I held off because of the shoddy plastic divider they were shipping back out when it wasn't fully resolved and they were still leaking replacements.

1.) Oil residue in the abdominal area, the bicep plates under the belt.

2.) Warped cowl and ears.

3.) Quality control issues on the Sonar Head around the eyes.

4.) Peeling paint.

I had no idea that the biceps were a problem. I mean, look at that. That's BAD. I mean oil on the lower stomach is one thing, but this is actual damage. That looks horrible.

Okay, yeah. I guess I never noticed the issues with the biceps because the abs and warped heads looked a hell of alot worse. The abs really outshined all the other issues, especially with all of the pictures. Your pic Vodoun is the first time I've seen such damage. I can imagine how that feels too. Like when you soak paper or stickers and it gets all bubbly. That's just horrible and intolerable.

Have you shown Hot Toys THOSE pics yet?

Yep, 1 week tonight I sent them to [email protected] with no responses at all.

I don't know if I should wait another week or post that pic on their Facebook page to speed up a response.

I don't know who posted it (it might have been you vodoun) but it almost appears that Hot Toys doesn't see the problem, or better yet, didn't see the the problem. It's like that they're insulted that people are sending them these pictures and requests about this issue and don't want to risk sending a free figure to someone. That 1 replacement per customer is absolute crap too. I don't see why they would be smug about the whole thing.

If I owned a toy company, and I saw those two pics vodoun I wouldn't be like "send me a few more hi-res pics of the problem" or "let us see a receipt and more pictures of the figure destroyed." I'd send you a replacement ASAP. If not a WHOLE new figure (box, accessories, heads) atleast a body, no questions asked.

Yeah, people could be trying to milk Hot Toys and work the system, but it's obvious that these first couple of batches were wide spread problems. They should just man up and take the loss.

Oh, and I'll be honest. Back when I got my HT OC Batman suit in 2008 I tried to "con" them out of two more black hand pegs for my Batman figure. This was before they started packing pegs mind you, so I guess it was kind of wrong. I sent them an email that they "were broken". The problem was I had trouble pulling them out and didn't want to risk damaging them. I figured with a few more pegs I could easily swap the hands I wanted to use.

So I get an email back in which they requested pics and a receipt. 1.) my pegs aren't broken, 2.) I don't have a receipt. I gave up on that one. They were cheap, small pegs that they could have just sent, which I'm sure they have MILLIONS of. Pegs are one thing, but a defective FIGURE that costs 200 dollars? That's something else.

If I had this faulty Batman I'd probably get so frustrated that I'd burn the damn thing.

Sadly over $400 for me.

I bought two at the same time back in February before this was widely known.

Yeah, that's true. You're definitely not the only one I've noticed with 2. I know I have 2 of the DCD versions preordered myself.

I wish I could turn back the clock and cancel these then go the DCD route but what's done is done. Thats why now I've gone with Sideshow for any new Hot Toys figures in case whatever such incident does not happen again.

Out of the past 2 years getting Hot Toys figures through a shop from Hong Kong I've never had such an issue, until now. The figures have been flawless. Until now but they don't get the first run of figures, they get the second run.

Hot Toys has blown a huge bit of confidence with me. Sure their new stuff is amazing pieces but when they pulled the stunt with the John Connor head sculpt then the Batman DX. What's to say this happens again with some other figure? it's not exactly trust worthy is it especially how their customer service is handling this. How else are you suppose to feel.

Well, in their defense, they covered the Connor problem without issue, everyone got the new head and I never heard of any hastles, this DX has been the only time I've seen them act all shady about rectifying a mistake they've made.

Thats true but it was still put out on the market knowingly it was wrong. Only people complaining was when Hot Toys had to do something about it.

Well, if people weren't unhappy with the head, why do something about it? I don't fault them for putting out something defective or not up to snuff, so long as they're willing to accept that they screwed up and make it right. That's what frustrated me with Batman, epsecially the oil people. John Connor was messed up, they were called out for it, they fixed it. Even Batman, it shipped with flaking paint and warped heads, they addressed it publicly and fixed it. That's all I ask that they do. It was this oil problem where things really went downhill, unresponsive, policy changes, they no longer demonstrated admittance of fault and tried to dodge the problem and move on as if they didn't make a mistake.
