Well then, all of our toys are killing us. Kind of makes me rethink the hobby a little. What if it gets to the point where "collecting plastic" is like smoking cigarettes?

I'm sure we could all quit . . . :rotfl

Seriously though, that's kind of scary. Glad I'm not home alot and rarely sleep in my bedroom (where most of my collection is held).

It is quite scary, the use of Phthalates is not banned in the east, so I can't image HT would have a problem using the substances.
Particularly in "soft rubber". Bats is an obvious candidate?

Just sayin...

I just thought of a great idea. I'm going to email and ask them if this figure could harm if it's cancerous and that if that's the case I have my lawyers ready.

Imported toys fall under Federal regs too, so I wouldn't get all tittybaby about it. :lol

agreed! if it leaks, it leaks. I knew before hand. but it's still the most accurate TDK batman out there (without going through the Medx process anyway), so I'll enjoy i while it's still "perfect"
Yeah, plus the fact mine doesn't leak :D

And why would the great NAM titty baby assume we live in the USA?
Move to Europe you can order plutonium online.
:lol

Move to the U.S., you can get better dental? :huh:nana:

In all seriousness, since it's all made from the same factory out of the same stuff, if it meets U.S. Federal regulations, I think you're safe too. ;)

So no cancer!?!?

____. Well, can't take back my email. *whistle* *whistle* *whistle*

erm.. if mean those fake plastic white things teeth?
Good dental means looking after what you have, not strip mining your mouth to stick in some ridiculous muppet veneers!

just sayin.

Hi there,
can someone give me the link toward the differents options to diminish the oil problem? Been reading this thread and have no luck so far since it's quite big.
I read something about towel paper and also thin trasparent plastic (like the one that contains the HT figs).
Thanks

What's the recommended cleaning for the figure if it has a slight shine on the lower abs? Thanks!

You're damned if you wipe it and damned if you don't. If you want the suit to dry up and crack over time, wipe it off. If you want it to bloat overtime, lose (melt) the detail and wrinkle the decals, leave it be.

Hey Guys -

My figure was also burdened with this problem but I've come up with an idea, that I'd like to call a solution. This solution has really taken the anxiety away from my display. :)

My Batman was very 'oily' and I was looking for someway to evaporate the oil but also keep the rubber from deterioration. I tried using a hairdryer, on low heat and being extremely careful to not melt or burn the rubber but this seemed to bring more of the 'oil' to the surface. :(

I took my 'Lens Pen': $25.00 and is a fine dusting instrument used for cleaning digital camera screens, and wiped the abs. The shiny finish looks fantastic so I began to give the entire figure the same treatment with the oil that had soaked into the 'Lens Pen'. Gently buffing each part of the figure until a shiny finish had been achieved. :impatient:

The end result is subtle enough but it really does improve the finish of the figure as the oil conceals any fine marks on the armour. The only concern anyone should have after completing this procedure would be the attraction of dust caused by the distribution of the oil but if you keep your collectibles in sealed, dust free, glass display cabinets as I do, you should use this technique. :lecture

To this day no oil has reappeared and the shiny finish I created has not dissipated at all. :yess:
