I also think that no matter what DX releases will always have a upward battle to climb JUST because of the PERS. Some folks will hate it straight out the gate just because it has the PERS. Where as I dont mind them, and think that it has benefited more releases as of late than have hindered them.

My opinion is that this version looks much better, but I'm not going to scratch my head over why people like the other version any more than I'm going to scratch my head over why people prefer the the colour blue over green.



Pic 1: The least flattering production pic I've seen so far.
Pic 2: A proto shot of the original that didn't turn out quite the same at at production.

It's an easy game to play, comparing to pics that are not equal, and it really proves nothing.

Personally, I wasn't completely sold on the DX10 until I saw the store display pics. I thought the MMS117 looked good in the proto pics as long as the sunglasses weren't on. After that, I have seen hundreds of in hand pics of the MMS117 and I have yet to see one that makes it look good to me.

In short, who cares if someone likes one version more than the other? Is it really surprising that we each see things in our own way?

in all seriousness though, I agree with your post. exactly how I feel about this release and most others. Don't care if any one else lieks the figures I buy. It's going in my collection that I'm looking at every day

This kind of thing happens with every thread though. Havent we all learned anything yet? I just dont understand the initial "freak out" over pics. I reserve judgement till I have the sucker in hand. And if any mods or changes can be done to improve it, I have no problem doing that. (its another bonus fun thing to this hobby), if its beyond saving or if I just dont like it, I can always resell it.

It's just discussion and when the first pics surface the natural reaction is either like or not. I think people get a hard time for just talking

To me this has a dead face and soft features. The 117 has very defined bones and excellent paint. So while neither may really look like Arnie, there are still reasons to like one over the other.

Anyway, I guess people just get wound up when people don't like something. I'll leave you guys in peace and come back to have a squizz at the OMG pics.

But that's the problem Rezz you don't reserve judgement. To do so would mean remaining impartial, you jump at anyone who says a bad word against a set you are looking forward to?

I think you are putting words in my mouth. How did I attack anyone based on their opinion? I just mentioned that Luke turned out for the better and not to worry...Thats me jumping on some one? Kinda like you were Johnny on the Spot to jump on me every chance you get?

Theres others here too that have said they dont like it, Have I jumped on them too? I dont want to leave anyone out.

DX07Luke and DX12Batman were destroyed by PERS. Googly giant eyes. I like the idea of PERS, but look back at most of he DX sets with hindsight. The oversized Googly eyes has become a negative factor in most of them. Only Sparrow, Lee, 89 Bats and maybe Jackson, were enhanced by PERS. 4 out of 12?

I used to own the mms 117, and while that one looked great, and impressive - cause it seemed lke a big massive dude amongst my other 1/6 figures, I do prefer this one - and I kind of like the PERS on this, it gives me more options to pose him. Also I prefer the likeness on this one as well - it seems a bit soft, but that's ok - to be honest, it's the real leather stuff and all I don't really care for. Now if only HT decides to make the battle damage version along with this one. Otherwise they keep updating the sculpt for the same T2 non damaged version-

I have to be honest, I've never seen this so called "huge googly eye" thing with PERS headsculpts and I've had quite a few DXs. Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. But I'm glad I don't see it otherwise I'd be as unhappy as some of you guys
