Reminiscent of the T1 PF, where the Endo eye looks straight on while the "human" type eye looks to the right.

In that case it was also screen accurate. Trevor Grove doesn't make many mistakes with sculpts, though.

In that case it was also screen accurate.
in that case it was also not screen accurate.
T2 eye is turned in different scenes, stopping just in scenes when he speaks to people, but the statue is not speaking, it's moving to the enemy.
T1 eye in that kind of damage - before the truck hit - moves together with the human eye in both scenes, as both times it is a doll. the police massacre scene is between them.
T1 eye after a truck crash is the same that T2 eye was in the end of the movie:
a) in a "get out" scene it looks right side, together with the human eye;
b) later it looks front and doesn't move when the camera shows the front;
c) later in the truck it is a doll with a fully functional endo eye. yes, exactly, moving freely, not even like in T2 where Winston was already too rich & lazy to make decent makeup or bring a doll.
d) and later it is an endoskeleton with - again - both eyes moving.
so no, there was no "stopped eye" intended in both T1 and T2 and there was no scene matching both SS statues (concerning the eyes position).

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl this is... too much :monkey1
the day of the triffids!

I know there are scenes where it moves, and scenes where it doesn't. So my point is that it isn't inaccurate to do it the way they did (in either case). Whether or not it was intentional in the film, it appeared that way at certain times, and makes the statue represent "man with prosthetic eye makeup" instead of "real killer robot" look. So neither is really wrong, it just depends on the preference of the sculptor or collector.

so you make the same conclusion that a-dev did:
sideshow made a mistake with a facial expression and huge clothes details, but took one faulty scene with makeup eye too far from the nose and looking in a wrong direction and used it to get screen accuracy of that one scene, even though the pose they used didn't have that problem, as well as several other scenes.
as is said, justifying the mistakes leads to further mistakes :)

I'm not saying it wasn't an oversight by SSC. It could have been. But it could simply be that they made a conscious decision with the T1 version, and did this one the same way so they would be uniform. But SSC does take liberties with a lot of their sculpts, so it could be they just pick and choose what they want screen accurate and what they don't.

well, i have pointed out that anybody making T1/T2 eyes looking in different directions makes a mistake (including you saying that that T1 sculpt was screen accurate).
the more people justify such mistakes with their wallets, the worse figures i will get with mine, and that's not cool.
luckily i don't care for statues and despise SS products )

That's a good point, conflicting intentions sort of thing.

Well, I aint buying it anyway. There's no fun in statues/PFs for me.

Well said. Same for me... None so far. To be honest the only ones i was ever tempted to buy as staues were the sucker punch GG ones. Had a tough time letting go of them. (For obvious reasons) ... But on my wifes command it was very easy to do! :)

Are you serious? He had a furrowed/angry looking brow for quite a few scenes.

Not with the full BD face he didn't. He looked quite neutral in his face prior to the molten steel dipping. Its fine, they're not going for total scene specificity but if they were this expression would be too harsh.

People not buying the stuff won't tell them they're doing it wrong. It will just tell them Terminator doesn't sell. Same goes for anything else.

You just have to get lucky and hope that the guy working on your favoured license is an obsessive for details. Terminator just doesn't have such a person as you said recently. While frustrating, the only option is to buy or not to buy. I choose the former, otherwise I'd be very bored.

You are inferring that it was a mistake, which it may not have been so much as a conscious choice. But the biggest question is--do collectors have a problem with it? Having followed the T1 statue thread when it was active, I know the feelings there were mixed. But it does look screen accurate to certain shots, and gives the impression of a guy wearing prosthetics, and that has a kind of charm IMO.

But in reality he never had those guns and wore the glasses to wear you could see his eye, so there is no 100% screen accurate look they could have gone with there no matter what they did.

Ah, you're right with regard to the fully BD eye. I had forgotten how brief a time it was that he actually sported that look. Just switch to alternate power, wake up, pull the spike out, surprise the T-1000 with the grenade launcher, "I need a vacation," "I know now why you cry," "goodbye" and that's it. No super intense or mean looks at all.
