I know these boxes are insane. Its harder to store the boxes than display the pieces. :lol

hmm, yeah, forgot about that. I'm about to hit real crunch time when it comes to boxes. By the time this comes around, I'll have atleast 3 Doctor Who statues with boxes around the size of the King of the Dead statue.
I'm really at pains of what to do with them all and I don't want to throw any of them out.

I know everyone will think me insane, but I just cancelled my FB Vs E. As much as I love the look of this piece, I simply can't see anyway I could display something that huge. I mean, the beast is almost 2 foot square!

It's a damn shame though and my heart sinks with disappointment...

The King of the Dead statue box isn't that big?

Try housing the Stone Trolls box, the Sauron box and the Ringwraith on Steed box, combined with the Cave Troll Legendary Scale bust box and the Morgul Lord Legendary Scale bust box, together with the Watcher in the Water box, Morgul Lord box, Treebeard bust box, Lurtz PF box and the Mumak of Harad box in your 3 x 2 x 2.20m shed! :banghead

My box situation is beyond crunch time. :lol Its actually to the point I need a rental spot to store them all.

Once I get my displays setup, which should be within the next month or two, I'll be able to actually remove the statues from the boxes and display the pieces. I think with the empty boxes, I'm going to put them in a big garbage bag and either store in garage or attic, both areas hitting extreme temps in AZ summers.

I'm pretty sure the heat won't affect the boxes unlike UV. I'm not aware of the temp limit on styrofoam or cardboard before it melts or spontaneously combusts.

It's a love-hate relationship with the boxes. Somehow keeping them gives me the comfort that I can always pack them back up for safekeeping. BUT, they certainly take up a lot of storage space, and my cup runneth over when it comes to these!

Sometimes I wish SS can revolutionize the inflatable styrofoam. That way I can flatten the box, and keep the inflatable styro deflated with it. Think of how much space you can save with that concept! :monkey5

Have you patented that idea, copyrighted it in any way, or hired a lawyer??? :monkey3 :rotfl :monkey3 :rotfl :monkey3

That is the exact reason Ive not ordered it on the first place.

As much as I love the piece, I would have no idea how to display it, let alone where to display it and the thought of struggling with trying to find a place for the box in my 1 bed flat would be a nightmare.
Ive run out of storage space for them as it is anyway
x:D

Well . . .it's a nice concept, certainly, but the downfall is that it may not withstand the Fedex gorillas when they throw them around. Not to mention if these go into airplanes, and there's a pressurization issue. And I can see the lawsuits cropping up because someone decided to breathe in the styrofoam fumes . . .

On that note, can you imagine if they blew these up with Helium?? Think about how much shipping costs would go down! Sure we pay extra for inflatable styrofoam, but if they use Helium, it all evens out!

You're insane!! ;) Just kidding!

Actually, this piece has brought back some of that SS/Weta "magic" for me, in so far as that "can't wait for it" feeling.

I would display it in the middle of the dining room table if I had to! :D

Displaying this will be a pain but it will be a nice one to have.

4 me the magic has never left. :)

I still think you're on to something! And good idea about the Helium! (Now if it was only cheaper...) :D

i'm in the same situation... it's a shame having a cave troll, stonies, rwos, full fellowship, etc. just sitting in a huge stack just begging to be displayed
:monkey2

Well, no, not in itself, but times that by 3, add to that fact that I already have the King of the Dead, Aragorn at black gates, Legolas/Gimli on Arod, Buffy/Obi Wan/Angel/Frodo/Leia and 7 of 9 PF's and then add a general bunch of Gandalf the Gray, Arwen, Galadriel, Boromir, etc, etc it all really starts to add-up. And then I'm going to add this one to it and the Indy PF when it happens and yes, just like many here it all adds up to a lot of boxes.

So, even tho we also get 40+C heat during summer, I too am going to have to consider packing them up and putting them in the shed or something. Its for this reason that I'm also starting to keep the brown shipping box, which in the past I have thrown out.
