• We're increasing the time for buyers to file merchandise disputes (Item Not Received and Significantly Not as Described) from 45 days to 180 days.
• We're extending buyer protection to include item not received claims for custom made products.

The first point is complete bollocks - what can't be done in 45 days that it needs 180? Sheesh...

international packages shipped SAL take significantly longer to arrive.

by extension, if they get lost, it takes longer to notice.

Is it true that the seller has to pay return postage, and refund initial postage costs, regardless of the reasons/excuse for refund?

They could've easily made that rule for international shipping only. 45 days in the same country is plenty of time.

and im stuck on this page and the freaky news section. what kinda freaky deeeky shat is this?

Was going to say half a year is ridiculous - I had a customer that maliciously dragged a case out in snaky ways just to try to be a thorn in my side even past the 45 days, even though I did nothing wrong and would have worked with him if not for him being one of the nastiest people I ever ran across - jerk from beginning to end. Ebay had ruled on my side, but these people have their ways... and I'm pretty sure if he had 180 days he would have kept it going for even past that... eBay rules sometimes don't cover harassment, unfortunately. But yeah, I can see where it makes sense for pre-orders and foreign orders... I just don't pre-order on there myself, too risky. I imagine this will be a godsend for some people, and just more trouble for others - like so many things in life a mixed blessing.

So, potentially annoying buyers have half-a-year to file dispute claims?! :slap. Ughhh... what a way to turn off sellers. I guess I'm done with Ebay.

I still don't know where Dave is getting this from, this policy was only in place for UK buyer and sellers early this year. There is no mention of this any where on ebay or the web that it is now applied to US sellers and buyers.

'Gallery' takes you to 'Forum'.
'New Posts' is working for me.

Ah, you mean your 'Posts' Tab? That's been broke for a while.

Thanks Gallery link worked. Dave really needs to fix up all those broken links so annoying. Posts tab is what I use to keep track of my threads of interest.

God I hope not, I just got an e-mail from ebay today because a buyer claims one of the metal pegs on a recent sale is chipped and therefore not mint. This is a manufacturer error/flaw. I stated as such and requested detailed photos. The statue itself is flawless....

it's doing that for me too, just use the other tabs

oddly if you hit gallery...it goes to the forum page

thanks for that. :]
neat trick, i can never see the connection. its like naming your porn stash "sunday choir group newsletters". :lol

180 days is ridiculous. The buyer can do so much with a product in that length of time and then tire of it and file a dispute.

Seller ships promptly... if it's lost, it's lost well within 45 days. 45 days is plenty :dunno

This increase has saved my ass, almost lost a lot of money on a bogus preorder.

Preordering with an upfront payment to an untrusted seller is stoopid.

:lecture :exactly:
