The first point is complete bollocks - what can't be done in 45 days that it needs 180? Sheesh...
A 6 or 7 week delivery to Brazil from the US for starters.

Yeah, that 180 days thing sucks for sellers. Man, **** eBay/Paypal.

Actually it can work to a seller's advantage. It gives more time for the item to arrive before a buyer would file item not received. If you ship with tracking, it doesn't matter how long you give a buyer to file. You can't make a claim against something that's already proven to be received.
Not as described on the other hand… Well that one should be tied to the delivery date. Let's say confirmed delivery date plus 30 days.
That's obviously the problem because, as someone pointed out before, you're just giving folks more time to mess around with something, cause damage or have second thoughts, and get a refund. I insure just about everything that I ship worth more than $100 or so, so the delivery date issue isn't a concern for me.Not as described on the other hand… Well that one should be tied to the delivery date. this could screw up buyers too, someone could sell a bunch of stuff, take the money and disappear. (It has been done already with the 45 day limit), Imagine what a shady seller can do with 180 days...
If a buyer files a Significantly Not as Described (SNAD) Claim for an item they purchased from you, you will generally be required to accept the item back and refund the buyer the full purchase price plus original shipping costs. You will not receive a refund of your PayPal fees. Further, if you lose a SNAD Claim because we, in our sole discretion, reasonably believe the item you sold is counterfeit, you will be required to provide a full refund to the buyer and you will not receive the item back (it will be destroyed). PayPal Seller protection will not cover your liability.
eBay are really trying to alienate sellers...
The source of their income
They probably think ""where are our sellers going to go? Amazon? "" ....
This was in an email to Paypal customers about policy changes.
I see the 180 thing being great for those buying pre-orders from eBay sellers, despite the "must be available in 30 days" rule.
So is this an eBay-specific rule or a general PayPal rule? I use PayPal to process all payments for my online business which has nothing to do with eBay and have been doing so since 2006. There have thankfully only bee a very small number of scammers.
