I REALLY like 1:1 replicas. I've got a bunch of Buffy ones, but Mjolnir requires some serious consideration! I don't know if I'm worthy!!!

The one that I REALLY want though is that 1:1 capt. shield look-a-like that the one guy (on some site) was selling. It was brushed aluminum and colored. Looks amazing, like nothing I had ever seen before. If there ever was a perfect Captain shield, that was it.

What ever happened with Chris's shields? Last I read, was that he was going to make a stronger version of the shield, different type of metal! did it ever get made? Is he still selling them anymore?

He was/is mainly active on the RPF forum

He did a few versions of his shield, first was just the front detail with his own handle on the back

then he did a version with the bracket and proper straps on the back (that's the one i have)

he then did the full version with the grooves on the back of the shield as well

he was planning on making a titanium shield, but i don't know how far he got with that, i think he made a prototype. and shot it

i haven't been on the RPF for a while though

The pic I posted a while back on this thread is a Chris Fields shield, from his final run with every detail from the movie shield including the rear grooves. He also did the battle damage on my shield. His work is simply gorgeous.

Unfortunately he doesn't produce fully painted shields anymore but he did have a run of shield blanks and hardware a month or so ago on RPF, which you can paint and assemble yourself.

There's one on Ebay from time to time, but i don't think it's Chris selling it himself

When he was at the height of making them, I don't recall anybody else really re-producing his method and appearing to have his quality

If I didn't already have this one, I'd hold out for the eFx shield

Having said that, if I had a choice, I'd still have the one I got from Chris as there's something cool about it acually being metal (even if it isn't vibranium)

I really can't remember what I paid as it was all in seperate parts, deposit here, additional payment there...

Maybe £250? It certainly wasn't massively expensive compared to licenced products
