I picked my shield up from Cousin Dave last year.

One lesson I learned hard was not to hang it up via the straps. Mine hung fine for a few months then one day I noticed it was crooked. I fixed it walked out of the room and heard this loud sound like something scraping my wall, I immediately knew it was the shield falling. Ran back to the room and saw that the whole bracket on one side had come off. Luckily the shield didn't fall the other bracket held on, so no damage, other then some scrapes on the wall. Took it down and now I am in the process of sanding off all the bonding/industrial glue and I have someone lined up who will remount the bracket.

Despite that drama, I LOVE the shield, it looks so good and is worth every penny especially since it was metal. To me it was a grail piece I feel lucky to have been able to afford.

It may not be screen accurate but I really like the property of tag in the middle of the back of the shield.

Believe it or not she was as excited as I was to see it. She actually thought it was Captain America's real shield.

Wish I was able to get a blank with the grooves in the back. Minor detail that I really won't see when it's on display, but I still wish they were there. Really brings the back of the shield together (along with that property tag, which I will most definitely get for my shield, screen accuracy be damned).

Also, thanks for the heads up on hanging it up via the straps. That was my intention when I finally finish my shield, glad to know now that it's a bad idea.:lol

You guys should stop posting pics of those shields in this thread. Nobody is gonna want the eFX version now.

People will still want the eFX. It's a nice looking shield, it is cast from the one from the movie, is movie accurate, and it's made by a known company that is licensed to make them.

For others it's about the look and it being metal. Like others have said they all have their place, it just comes down to what each person is looking for.

Exactomundo. It varies what people value. I know eFX, and they are an acknowledged brand. I feel good with ordering their stuff.

So once BBTS has this they'll charge us for it?

Yeap. They replied to me today. Still no ETA for their arrivals:

"Unfortunately we have not received anymore information on their estimated time of arrival, hopefully they will begin to arrive soon. As soon as your preorders have arrived and processed, you should receive an email from us. In the meantime, please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you."

Great, thanks for that little bit of info. It'll probably be a while more then I would guess. These being shipped after the guys who ordered direct and then that dock delay.

I was on CF's very last run, ended up paying around $900+ shipped if I recall correctly. It's truly a work of art, definitely the one to keep compared to eFX and KA so far. Nothing against the eFX shield, it's certainly priced right and is an incredible piece in its own right.

Love your display! What are you using inside your UD Replicas jacket? I want to do something very similar.

Are you able to take a picture of the side of the shield, was wondering how thick it was as I wasn't sure if he basically put two shields together one with the detail on the front of it an one with the detail on the back

I don't think so, the shield isn't very thick, about half an inch, it's thinner than the eFX shield. If your shield is about the same thickness then Chris probably cut the grooves into the shield blank.

Nice! :clap Where did you get the costume and helmet?

Costume is UD Replicas with weathering effect and the helmet is from RPF.

It's a mannequin torso, for the arms I just used rolled up foam, saves you $$$ on a half mannequin with adjustable arms and fills out the sleeves better.

I decided to bail on this one. I know. I know. I was all for it, but too many 'what ifs.' And I'm not about to pay $100 in shipping only to send it back, etc. etc. Good luck to the next person. :rock

No, I saw it available, added to cart, was about the checkout, then it says my cart was empty and it was back to preorder sold out. Went back to this thread, saw the above post, assumed he bought it. Lol :lol

A few pages back I offered to give up one of my preorders. No one sent me a message so I just did it. Sucks

Oh, I missed it. I must've been busy. The timing just earlier was really unlucky, sigh. I guess it is being monitored heavily.
