Looks really good in this picture. I understand that some people are disappointed but as a replica of the STUNT shield, this is damn near perfect. I think if people want more detail and a more high end finish, they should go with the KA one.

So will the KA version look more like the real shield?

Ok gotcha. I'm waiting for the paint app results then. I keep hearing that the paint apps on the eFx are not the greatest.

You don't have to wait. There are pictures from the people that got theirs, in the King Arts thread. I think the paint looks great.

Have there been any better pics than these? I know these shots are pretty unflattering, whereas Ed was able to capture the look of the eFX with how it is in-person.

Here's one with more light around it. One big difference you will have with the KA (aside from metal) is the grooves. The KA has a black paint app within each ring. It makes the KA appear much darker and accentuating each ring in the low light pics.

It comes down to preference on the prop vs real metal shield as well as the color preference for lighter red / darker red. The efx while it is faithful to the prop pieces and looks great from more than 6 feet away, looses a lot up close with the details for me. In hand it looks like a kids cosplay shield. with the poor star grooves and the bleed within the rings the finish is sloppy. The back straps are excellent, but the finish on the back of the shield looks very toyish with the cast screw billets on the outer rims of the shield. I am eagerly awaiting the final KA shields with good well lit pics. To be transparent I have the EFX in hand and two KA stand versions on order (Red and Battle Damaged).

I've been looking for an eFX Mjolnir for months and haven't seen any for under $800 but I think I found a really good deal for one earlier and I'm gonna bite. So excited for this piece.

I'm so undecided... I'm really liking that picture of Edward, yet I keep hearing about the close-up paint job not looking so good. On the other hand, with regards to the KA, I'm not sure I'm 100% behind the black lining, although it makes the star more pronounced but on the circular rings, not too sure... It also just might be the angle or my poor eyes, but does the star circle section seem smaller on the KA than the eFx? I definitely want the better quality shield.

I wonder if someone will be crazy enough to see if this thing can take a bullet.... :lol :slap

Yeah, the Mjolnir is awesome, a perfect complement to the shield as well...

I've got both the shield and hammer and they do look great together.

I think the groves of the star on the King Arts version are actually deeper then the efx version.

I recently bought the hammer a few months ago, but had a slight but annoying issue with it. Whenever I turned it over I would hear like a rattling sound as if a small piece/s of loose resin material is moving about.

Had a box made up just so I wouldn't lift it up all the time, plus it looks great.

The EFX is awesome in person. Here are some iPhone pictures of mine. FTR there is piles of pictures of the EFX on Statue Forum thread for this piece as well.

My shield has none of that black highlighting around and on the inside segments of the star...

I used a plain old lead pencil to get mine like that. I have an interior window to my office that I can see the shied through and as such wanted that accent to show through. Like I said lots and lots of pics of others 'unmolested' shields in that SF thread.

That free 90 second mod gave me the look I personally wanted but the shield our of the box looks exactly as it did from act 2 of the Avengers through The Winter Solider. The thing that those who want the high shine, prominently grooved star look have to keep in mind that was the look the shield had solely in The First Avenger and the Germany scene of The Avengers only.

Thanks, I thought mine might of not had it done at the factory. I'll definitely try the pencil on it thanks for that advice, I was going to paint it but thought it would run through the shield grooves.

Good god......the shield looks great but the crap holding it up on the wall.....yea......not that good.....IMO.

While I prefer this wall mount to King Art's one, save the led's, it is just passable at best. I would have preferred a concealed mount or one similar to that of their old "Master Replicas" comic book shield version. The Plexiglas "A"'s and Marvel logo's are cheesefest and should have been blank or hinged metal clasps.

Additionally this shield was expensive enough that, at a minimum, the bracket should have been convertible to a floor stand or engineered that the shield can be easily removed and replaced from the wall.

In all honesty I absolutely dread the paint apps on the KA shield. That gloss finish just makes it look cheap for me. The efx shield and that matte finish has that more realistic touch. That's just my 2 cents tho. Can't wait for April, BBTS come and get it
