While it is somewhat despicable if no one is willing to fork the $$ they will never sell it and that's that.

Customers all have attachment to these pieces but the companies that make and sell them are there to make money mostly so if people are willing to buy it I don't see why they would say "let's NOT make $700 extra on each piece."

Scalpers live very well when there is war, famine, natural disasters etc. And of course scalping is one of the oldest "jobs" in the world, right next to ... prostitution. The fact that something is old, doesn't make it right or moral.

This thing looks amazing! I've been looking and the only scalper, er I mean vendor that has these in stock is Toynk.com. They are a approved vendor on eFXcollectibles.com, but they have marked up this piece $700 above MSRP at $1700!!! Are you kidding me?!?! What are they making, $1000 each? Its appalling and its taking advantage of the customer. I think eFX should be able to control this and dump scalping businesses like Toynk. If anyone knows where I can get one for a reasonable price, lmk.

all true but the principle holds though. If eFx let's them do it and people are willing to pay for it why would they not do it?

When video games become rare and appreciate in value it's the seller that gets the extra $$ not the developer. When you buy a game second hand the developer doesn't get a dime.
Does that mean stores and buyers are unethical?

The TIE didn't become rare yet, there are still shops carrying it at least in EU, but would be crazy to re-ship to US. No one will say not to resell it for more $ after some time, but they are doing with their in stock products - this is flipping. Yeah this is easy money, fast cash whatever you call it, but is also hurting the real collector. People like these existed all over the history, and even in the Nazi Jewish ghettos and took advantage of innocent people there...

When money is the center of someone's life then something is wrong. And when others also agree with that, then there is a problem. Maybe I come from a place where some of us put people above money. Or maybe I am completely wrong and indeed the money is king, and we deserve all this to happen...

They are not asking current market values. They are asking over the top prices, abusing potential buyers willingness to pay up, here and now.

One of the things I liked about the Icons TIE was the clear rod. Even a black rod might be better than the silver one. And the Icons DS base is beautiful.

It was an example, and please PM me if you want me to explain what history my friends and family had. Even so bad things are still bad things, even on a small scale. Scalping is the same thing, no matter if it is about a toy, or a piece of bread. Ignore small things and they can escalate. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

I'm getting my TIE from Toy Palace and I think it should be shipping this week. Later today I'm going to the bank to add the funds for this baby. Cannot wait. And I'll have the TIE Pilot bust displayed closer to the TIE Fighter

@Mandible: Actually it depends on the lights. But i think in real life it looks more blueish.
As far as i know (read that on the RPF some time ago) the ANH TIEs were sprayed just with grey primer from Krylon and the blue tone came from the lighting in the movie. For ESB they did them directly in a more bluish tone. But that theory can be out of date by now

@jkno: The wings fit very well. Attention: you must turn them a bit to get them both in line before you tighten the screws and put on the parts that hide the screws. These are very fragile and prepare that you will never ever be able to loose these again.

Something like that I have in mind as well. As soon as the TIE comes will post some pics of the new big cabinet.

Yes right. Best to see if the wings are in line is to sit the complete TIE on the floor and tighten the screws when both wings sit even on the floor.

The final cover is very fragile. It Needs some Patience to put These on.

There’s a vender down here in Australia selling one for $1400 delivered in Australia but doesn’t help you. I bought mine thru Secret compass and got it delivered to Australia for $1080 total.
