i dont get why there isnt any good highend star war vehicle makers. Why isnt sideshow getting the license and start making vehicles?

Master replicas aside, i think code 3 did a phenomenal job with the star war line especially impressive considering the low price they charged. Very sad they lost the license and only making fire trucks now...

we need more star war vehicles!

This might be the last eFX item for me. We'll see.

DEFINITELY the last eFX for me.

Not worth the wait or the heartache, worrying if eFX is going to go bust and lose my deposit.

As a business owner, I don't care what anyone says, eFX can't continue as is. They MUST be losing money with the endless delays/manufacturing issues/quality control.

Code 3 did an amazing job on their die-cast ships and vehicles. Not really studio scale but even so they are great, detailed and the removable panels options to show the insides are fantastic.

I'm not sure Sideshow is up to the demands for accuracy involved in making prop replicas like these. They have a tendency to sort of "wing it" when it comes to the details. That's not to say that they couldn't do it if they really tried, but the prop replicas they've made so far (like the Hellboy gun or Right Hand of Doom) they've been more like prop "recreations" (not using the same materials or really trying for total accuracy -- just trying to recreate the feel of the prop).

And beyond that, I think the market for high-end Star Wars vehicles is really quite small.

I would be tempted to sell all my statues for a good ship/vehicle line up.
Mandible is that a Tie Interceptor I see in the pic. I can't see the big pic on my phone.

Yep. eFX were going to do a New Hope & Empire version of the standard Tie and the Interceptor for ROTJ.

However, they found out that the color scheme on the New Hope & Empire versions were the same (everyone thought the Tie's in Empire were different but it turns out they were lit differently and thus looked like they were blue) so now they're only doing the one version.

The interceptor... who knows with eFX? I haven't heard/read a thing since they initially showed it at SDCC 2009???

I love the part about the decals. Some guy at IPMS National model contest last year had a very nice TIE build of the finemolds kit. In the description on the detail sheet he has he didn't put any on his models "Since the studio scale kits didn't have any" I wanted to slap the guy. Know yer sh#@t before shooting of yer mouth.

You were right that was some interesting reading. Some people really get down on the models. That's pretty f'n cool.

From eFX at Rebelscum: "The first batch of TIE's should be leaving China towards the end of September."

Some info anc pics from Bryan on RS: "... we are trying our best to start shipping the TIE Fighter by the end of September. As you can see, we are in full production!"

I wonder how old those kids are.

Bryan said (on RPF) they are all at least the minimum age required to be able to work in China... but I wonder how that translates to Western World minimum age? In Australia it's 15.

The dude with the rolled up sleeves looks young, but then again, Asians are very good at holding their age. One of my best friends is originally from China and is 36... but looks 18 :)
