I need this! :rock :rock :rock

I needed to check back with this thread. That lengthy question and answer bit certainly addressed a lot of my own queries.

That dragon exclusive statue is very cool. I have no intention of getting that (preordered PS3 version), but still it looks good.

PFFFT. Lawyers. sometimes they make the company they're associated with look really, REALLY stupid.

Is it lawyers that make all the decisions that we revile or greedy executives that order their staff attorneys or those on retainer to do carry out certain policies? I'm just saying a lot of lawyer bashing is blaming the messenger and not the persons ultimately responsible.

Be that as it may, often times corporate lawyers are given free reign to protect a companies IP, and many times they go after things that they didn't need to.

I Get the impression that this is one of those times. If you've read the article, I get the impression that Notch gets that impression too.

Too rich for my blood.
Dragon statues are for shut ins and social retards anyhow, in my narrow minded bigoted opinion.:monkey3
I covet the art book however...

Seriously though, what an overpriced lackluster misfire.
Youd think they would've learned their lesson from the Oblivion CE.
How long have they had to come up with something rocking? 5 years?
A CE game thats more than the console its played on....
An epic fail for an epic game.

While I love Elder Scrolls, have been playing since the beginning, that is way too expensive for a Collectors Edition. I will stick with the regular and be completely happy. The last CE I bought I barely touched anything in it.

NetherRealm Studios had a good idea with their Season Pass idea, where you pay X amount of money up front and get the DLC as it becomes available for a reduced price.

More companies should offer packages with their games where you would pay like $20 extra for the game, but get all DLC that is released for it for free when it's available. Company gets extra money up front and costumer gets DLC for a much reduced price if they anticipated buying all or most of it seperately anyway.

That would be a CE that I would buy.

I'm getting the Collectors Edition.

I normally avoid all CE's because no video game really needs collectors editions....

But this is Elder Scrolls.
It's the big daddy. Other games exist to fill the long gap between Elder scrolls games.

I started with Arena almost 20 years ago now.
Since Daggerfall they have set the game in a specific region and I've always wanted them to do Skyrim.

I need a dragon sitting next to the Xbox while I play this one :D

The day Skyrim was announced I said I wasn't going to pre-order it until the Collector's Edition was announced. I previously bought the Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition the day it was announced so was very looking forward to this one.

Seeing it, theres no way its worth £130. While the dragon looks proper cool, and the artbook would be nice to flick through...this is definitely something that should be worth around £99. If there's a price-cut I'll definitely order one, but there won't be as people will buy this cos its a Skyrim CE.

If the info for it had said "And more to be announced soon!" or something, anything saying that there is more in the set that they haven't finalised yet...then I'd be tempted to order. But £130 is definitely overpriced for 2 things, one which has a high chance of being made of plastic (the cloth map is a pre-order bonus for the regular edition).

Bottom line, I'm really hoping to see a price reduction soon, even if its to £100, then the set would be worth it. Take a look at Mass Effect 3's CE....its £70 and you get far, far more items, both real and in-game. Plus with all the games coming out this year (AC: Revelations, SR: The Third, Dark Souls etcc), I'm gonna need as much money as I can get.

The CE price is also pushing it for me as well...never seen anything that crazy. I'd like the art book though...bummer...

So there's nothing with this Collectors addition that's different in the actual game ? , because that's all I care about.

I thinks £130.00 is silly money for what you get.
The dragon is only pvc anyway.
Also if you pre-order the game you get the cloth map anyway.
If they include future downloads for free and the statue was resin
and also the sound track.
I bought the Halo reach Legendary edition for £100.00 and a few weeks later it was £50.00.
I was going to get the gears of war 3 epic edition , but that is £100.00 and the colletors edition is £60.00 and you get exactly the same apart from a crappy pvc statue with a poor paint job.
Smae goes with the Deus ex collector's edition you get the play arts figure with it , which can be bought seperate anyway.

Though i love the elder schrolls and am on my 4th play through of Oblivion totaling over 500 hours , these are one of the few games worth keeping due to the replay value.

In short this should be £70.00 or £80.00 at the most.

Timed exclusive DLC is so lame. Is it going to make a PS3 owner run out and get an Xbox so they can get DLC a month sooner? All it does is give fanboys another reason to say how much better their console is than the other one.

BTW I own both consoles and they are both awesome.
