Timed exclusive DLC is so lame. Is it going to make a PS3 owner run out and get an Xbox so they can get DLC a month sooner? All it does is give fanboys another reason to say how much better their console is than the other one.

BTW I own both consoles and they are both awesome.

No.

It's going to make people that own both consoles(like myself), purchase the 360 version.

The concept is quite simple.

And there are still people out there that are on the fence about which console to purchase. For someone that is extremely interested in Skyrim, this news may weigh heavily on their decision.

Maybe, but I know for me it doesn't work that way. I have both systems, and I honestly don't care about "timed" exclusives. Now, console exclusives are a different thing.

As someone with both consoles, and who prefers to get single player games on PS3, I pre-ordered the 360 version a while back.

Not only did I expect the DLC to be a timed exclusive like Oblivion and Fallout, but even though in the back of my brain I have a feeling the PS3 version will run smoother since its a more powerful console (blu rays too)...the game was developed on the 360 and gets ported over to PS3. So it should run smoother on the 360 technically.

Seeing some 360 footage from a recent convention, I remember counting a 20 odd second loading screen so I really hope I don't regret my decision.

I guess. But 30 day "early access" just doesn't seem like a big deal to me for DLC. Plus I would assume most people who own both consoles buy most of their multi-platform games for Xbox since the majority of them tend to look and/or run slightly better.

Very true. I know I certainly do, except in small occasions like Madden and NBA2K series.

The way I normally choose a console, like I said in a previous post, is based on the multiplayer. If's there is none or the titles main focus is single player (Assassin's Creed) i'll get it on PS3. Otherwise it's Xbox.

But anyway, back to Skyrim, I made a huge mistake in going to GameFAQ's and reading the Board there, as I'm finding out many new features and info. Like Mining, I didn't know that we can now Mine resources ourselves. It's just making me more and more impatient for this game.

I think that varies. I mean, yes, in general, it seems like the 360 versions of the game always have a slight edge in the visuals department. But look at Deus Ex: Human Revolution on the 360, which is supposed to have much worse loading times than the PS3 counterpart.

But back on topic (kinda). Which system should I buy Skyrim for? PC is not applicable for me. :slap Am I gonna have to wait for a Lens of Truth comparison? :lol

Possibly. I mean it's kind of up in the air right now so go with your gut. Heck, just get both and return the one that gets less favorable reviews!!!
I'm going with the PS3 with dreams of getting a new computer the first of the year, and then getting the PC version.

Bethesda confirmed that the whole game will be on one disc rather than multiple. That's good.:dance

Just read that the game won't have armor degradation like Oblivion had and no localized specific damage to enemies like Fallout had i.e.( going for the headshot w/ an arrow is a waste of time as it causes no more damage than hitting the shoulder) it probably also means no crippling or disarming the opponent ala Fallout.

Most disappointing and inexplicable given they had both in Fallout which they made!

Hit areas is disappointing, the armor damage I don't really care about.

A slight disappointment for sure. Would have been fun to be able to go into vats and dismember bodily parts.

But I think they dropped it to avoid controversy. Skyrim has so much going on for it that Bethesda doesn't need to resort cheap thrills/shock factor since those would only detract from the game. Skyrim would end up being the game where you can chop people to bits rather than the epic game where you can be who or whatever you want to be.

This is great news if you ask me. :dunno All the rest of that nonesense takes away from the game.
