Maybe when she die, sideshow can make a statue with the likeness of her.

Its probly a lost cause dude, but it would be really cool, and you definately picked the best ripley scene for them to use, ripley with the taped together flamethrower and pulse rifle and all the eggs around her would make a sweet pf or diorama, i have that poster framed on my wall
Yup. Doesnt matter the artist, sculptor, company, brand, price or quality. When the actor/actress refuse to allow their likeness to be reproduced, thats it. Game over man.
You dont need to appeal to sideshow. You need to appeal to Ms. Weaver.
I can understand that Sigs might be under the impression that turds like this can get released.
But high end statues have come a looooong way!
I cannot tell you how fast I would buy a Ripley PF, if I had the chance.
I find it odd that Weaver has the power to veto all such projects; I cant think of another example where an actor has that much power over the use of their likeness, concerning movie-related product.
Would also loooooove to see a Hicks PF.
But then I suppose some scumbags would go and clone her and they'd have to give up the rights again....Maybe when she die, sideshow can make a statue with the likeness of her.
I may be wrong on this, but I don't think its that she has more "power" per say. I think usually actor's/actresses just arent as stubborn! They take the money and just let it ride so you never hear about it. Weaver has apparently just dug in on this issue where others go with the flow.
-Hicks: Michael Biehn is super bitter to this day that they killed off hicks without even any preliminary talks about his possible involvement/interest in part 3. Salt in the would was not telling him about a dummy with his likeness that was supposed to show him with an exploded chest. He naturally wouldn't allow that and apparently carries a grudge.
I wonder if someone wanted to make a PF or figure based on her character in Ghostbusters would she allow it?
Unfortunately no one would buy that.
What I heard was that Biehn kept refusing monetary offers until finally, the studio just threw up their hands and wrote him out of the project. However, unlike Weaver they evidently had the right to use his likeness per contract and they went right ahead and used it in 3. See, this is a much more usual scenario.
My point was that AFAIK, usually the right to use an actor's likeness for merchandise is part of the actor's contract; otherwise merchandising would be a nightmare. Weaver seems to stand alone as someone who has total power over where her likeness is used. I can think of no one else who gets that kind of kill-right over product featuring their likeness.
It will happens someday.I believe.
